Cirque Colors Cirque-Us Collection Swatches & Review
Press Samples, affiliate links/codes used – post disclosure
Hi friends! Today I am sharing the newest collection from Cirque Colors! Their April collection is inspired by the Circus and is called, wait for it… Cirque-Us. You cannot tell me that pun isn’t great btw.
The Cirque-Us collection features 6 polishes in a shimmer + holographic formula that Cirque calls Shimmergraphics. The Cirque-Us collection is available right now. You can use my affiliate code NicoleLovesNails to save 10% off the entire Cirque Colors website or on the Beyond Polish website.
My YouTube video features these polishes live swatched, in natural lighting as well as some comparisons to Cirque Color’s other Shimmergraphics.
P.S Alongside this release, Cirque Colors is doing a restock on last year’s Twisted Tea Party collection!
Live Swatch Video
Cirque Colors sent these to me as press samples to use for a sponsored video over on my YouTube channel but this post isn’t sponsored.
Cirque Colors is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are 11ml, non-toxic, Vegan and Cruelty-Free.
Marionette
Description: a pastel pink Shimmergraphic with magenta pink-red-orange color shifting aurora shimmer and scattered holographic effect
As someone who isn’t the biggest pastel pink person, this one is just saturated (and sparkly) enough that I loved it to pieces. The shimmer seems less dramatic, color shifty wise, than a contrasting shimmer but it is still very strong.
My photos show Marionette in 3 coats plus a thick layer of glossy top coat.
I forgot to compare this one to Pinky’s Up (from the Twisted Tea Party Collection) in my live swatch video so I wanted to throw that in here in case anyone was curious!
Ringleader
Description: a red-orange Shimmergraphic with magenta pink-gold-green color shifting aurora shimmer and scattered holographic effect
Ringleader has an almost metallic look on the nail. I had originally not been terribly impressed by it (the knee jerk reaction to hate on red polishes in me is strong) but once I saw it in natural light, I changed my mind. This is infuriatingly beautiful and I swear it changes color each time I blink. I am still undecided on if it’s red, orange or coral.
I used 3 coats for my photos.
Limelight
Description: a lime green Shimmergraphic with blue-violet color shifting aurora shimmer and scattered holographic effect
This is one of the more sheer polishes in the collection, it’s likely going to be a three coater for most people with a free edge. I did have a little bit of VNL with this one but the sparkle level does distract from nail line.
My photos show Limelight in 3 coats.
I thought for sure this was going to be a lot more similar to You Tart! (from the Twisted Tea Party Collection) but they are different shades of green (lime green vs chartreuse) with different shimmer colors as well.
Stunt Queen
Description: a light turquoise Shimmergraphic with orange-green-gold color shifting aurora shimmer and scattered holographic effect
The gold color shift to this shimmer has me drooling. I love nothing more than a contrasting shimmer, especially when gold is involved.
My photos show Stunt Queen in 3 coats but I think it will be a 2-3 coater depending on personal preference.
Aerial Act
Description: a cobalt blue Shimmergraphic with green-violet-blue color shifting aurora shimmer and scattered holographic effect
As someone who is a wee bit obsessed with all things cobalt blue, I knew this was going to be a stunner. I found it be a tiny bit more opaque than some of the other polishes in this release so my photos show Aerial Act in 2 coats. I did have a big of VNL but not enough that I felt the need to add a third coat.
Showgirl
Description: a deep periwinkle blue Shimmergraphic with pink-green-gold color shifting aurora shimmer and scattered holographic effect
Showgirl is the polish in this release that I would recommend if you want a near rainbow of colors on your nail. The shimmer has the pink, gold and green colors but the polish base has the blue/purple look to it.
My photos show Showgirl in 3 coats plus glossy top coat
Final Thoughts
For all of the polishes in this formulation, they dry down both textured and a little dull so you will want a nice thick layer of top coat to smooth everything out. I find for the shimmergraphic formula they aren’t so textured that you need to pair them with a glitter smoothing top coat (Salon Perfect’s Glitter Gloss or KBShimmer Smooth Moves are my recommendations) but you could if you wanted. I usually just wear these with one coat of top coat.
For those of you who are huge sticklers on seeing VNL, there is some slight VNL with some of these shades. In my opinion, the VNL is pretty slight with all of the shades except for Limelight which was the sheerest polish in the collection. The shimmer and holographic glitter will do a lot to distract from VNL.
It’s going to be a no brainer that I thought this collection was great. Combing shimmers with holographic glitter will always be a winning combination to me. You get a nice color shift in low lighting and in bright lighting the holographic hits you.
My top picks from this collection are Ringleader, Aerial Act and Showgirl. Let me know what you thought of this collection!
