Hi friends! I have a couple of blog posts that will be going up this week all featuring Sweet & Sour Lacquer. Darlene is gearing up for the Polish & Beauty Expo and sent these over to me to swatch. If you’re planning on going to the expo in a few weeks be sure to come say hi to me!
The Rock Candy collection will be debuting at the Polish & Beauty Expo but it will be available at a later date on the Sweet & Sour Lacquer website. If you use my code SweetNicole10 you can save an additional 10% on your order from the website.
All of the polishes in this release have the exact same formulation and application process. All of my swatches are shown in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. Instead of my usual blogging style, I’ll save the actual review portion for the end where I give my final thoughts.
Note: I wasn’t originally planning on doing blog posts for these release so formatting is going to be a little different from my usual as I didn’t write details notes while I was getting the swatches done.
Sweet & Sour Lacquer is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are in 15ml bottles, 5 free and cruelty free.
Wild Strawberry
Watermelon
Orange
Banana
Green Apple
Blue Raspberry
Grape
Update: adding in my swatches of the bonus polish called Grape. This is exclusive to shoppers during the Polish & Beauty Expo!
Final Thoughts
Out of the 3 Sweet &Sour collections that I was sent to swatch for the Expo, I think this might have been the one that I was most excited about.
All of the polishes performed the same way. None of the bases felt overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. These all do start off pretty sheer so you will need to build them up for the most opacity. I did have some VNL with all of the polishes.
I love the color story of this release. We almost had a full rainbow! I initially thought it was odd having a red-leaning coral and an orange in the same release but seeing how different the two look side by side, I’m not mad at it.
From what I can tell, each base seems to be lightly tinted to reflect the polish name and then the flakie combinations between all of the polishes are different. None of the polishes dry down super textured but you will need top coat for a glossy and smooth finish. Removal will be pretty messy but not overly difficult.
My favorites from this release are going to be Watermelon, Blue Raspberry, and Banana.
