Polish Pickup April 2024 Video Games

Hi friends! Today I am sharing the Bee’s Knees Lacquer offering coming to the April 2024 Polish Pickup. For April the theme is Video Games and as a lifelong gamer, I am really excited for this month.

This polish is a sibling to one of BKL’s most famous polishes, Doomicorn. Doomicorn was originally released in June 2021’s Polish Pickup and they have released *a lot* of Doomicorn siblings since then.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer Queen of Rot

Description: a dark chocolate Doomicorn sibling with the same green to blue shimmer

Queen Of Rot in typical Doomicorn fashion, starts off pretty dang sheer so you do need to build it up to gain the opacity. This is one of those jellies where how deep the base color gets will depending on how thick of a coat you go in for. You can see that I accidentally did a thinner coat on my middle nail so it’s not quite as deep as the other fingers.

The formula on this polish was fantastic, not too thick or too thin and it applies very easily. While this is sheer enough in one coat that is has some potential to be used a topper, on its own I found to get completely even coverage I needed three coats.

This is a pretty sheer polish so you will have obvious VNL with it, even after three coats. In some lighting the shimmer will make the polish look more opaque but it’s not an opaque polish by design.

My photos show Queen Of Rot in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. Removal for this polish will be very easy, I didn’t personally experience any staining.
