Hi friends! Today I am sharing the September 2023 Fandom Flakies box. As a casual Spider-Man fan, I geeked out a little bit when I realized the theme for this was Spider-Man adjacent. I am very much looking forward to the Spider-Man 2 game that is coming out next month for PS5.
The official inspiration for this month’s box is the movie Spider-Man Into The Spiderverse. The guest maker for September is Dam Polish. Bee’s Knees Lacquer – Let’s Do This One Last Time
Description: a medium purple polish with green to blue iridescent flakes and a scattering of green light reflective glitter
Let’s Do This One Last Time I found the base on this to be a little bit too thick to my liking so after my first coat I opted to add a quick squirt of thinner to it. The thinner loosened it up nicely and made application much better.
The polish starts off sheer and a little patchy so it needs to be built up to get even coverage. I found I needed three coats to make everything look even. In bright direct lighting, you can see a little bit of unevenness in the base. It’s not as noticeable outside of bright direct lighting.
The flakies and glitters spread evenly but do give off some texture. I opted to pair this with a glitter smoothing top coat and that paired with my top coat smoothed it out perfectly. I found the reflective glitters aren’t super in your faced, more like a delicate twinkle.
My photos show Let’s Do This One Last Time in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. Do NOT scrub this polish off, use the soak off method.

Dam Polish – Leap Of Faith
Description: a blurple base with blue/purple shifting shimmer, pink/gold/green shifting flakes, and light blue reflective glitter.
Leap Of Faith is one of those polishes that I feel gives the best of both worlds. You get a TON of sparkle from the reflective glitter and then you get all of the flakie goodness!
This is a pretty sheer polish where the opacity largely comes from the glitters and flakies so you will need to build it up to gain opacity. There are some big ol flakies in the polish which I am sure you can guess made me giddy! While the flakies do not give off texture, the reflective glitters do. So I would recommend at the least doubling up on your top coat, I opted to use a glitter smoothing top coat before my quick dry top coat.
My photos show Leap Of Faith in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. Just like the last polish, do not scrub this one off.

Night Owl Lacquer – It’s All Possible
Inspiration: Gwen Stacy
Description: a fuschia glowing with aqua/blue/violet shifting shimmer and micro flakies.
It’s All Possible had a fantastic formula. This is the polish for me fellow pank lovers. This is a bright pinky fuschia shade.
September must be the month of electric pinks because I feel like I have been calling pinks electric looking a lot lately. The shimmer and flakies give this a blueish purpley kinda vibe. Neither of the two give this any texture.
My photos show It’s All Possible in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. It will likely be a 2-3 coater depending on personal preference towards VNL. I had a tiny amount after 3 coats but not like I did in two coats. Removal will be easy but messy.

Ribbit Stickits
Scent Description: Friendly Neighborhood Webslinger scent description: orange blossoms and sparkling citrus blended wild honey
This month’s scent is YUMMY! When I was initially sniffing it, each time I gave it a sniff I was picking up a new scent. It’s sweet, fruity, citrus-y and you get a dash of something herbal which I thin is from the wild honey.
As a base, I used Essie‘s Twinkle In Time and on my ring finger is China Glaze Night And Slay.

Final Thoughts
Like I said at the beginning of this post, I am a fan of Spider-Man both the Peter Parker and Miles Morales versions. If you pulled my arm I would probably say I like Miles more than Peter.
When I originally swatched this release, I thought it was inspired by either the recent Spider-Man animated movie or the upcoming Playstation 5 game. It dawned on me as I was recording my live swatch video that it’s inspired by the first of the animated Miles Morales movies. That said, I don’t really feel like any of these scream Miles Morales Spider-Man to me.
Don’t get me wrong, I thought everything was great but I just wish I was able to better pick out which items went to which characters/moments from the movie. Although I do think the NOL is inspired by Gwen Stacy as Spider-Woman. I was extra bummed that there didn’t seem to be any decals with Miles on it.
