Cirque Colors California Dreamin’ Collection + High Society Swatches & Review

June 6, 2024

Press Samples, affiliate links/codes used

Hi friends! Today I am sharing the newest release from Cirque Colors. If you liked the color story of this year’s Vice collection, this one will be right up your alley as well.

The California Dreamin’ collection features 5 neon shimmer polishes. This was originally released back in 2021. The 2024 release includes the previous limited edition shade called High Society that was part of a 420 release.

This collection is available right now on the Cirque Colors website. If you would like to support my blog, use code NicoleLovesNails to save 10% off the entire Cirque Colors website or on the Beyond Polish website. If you would like to see these polishes in natural lighting, be sure to check out my live swatch video on my YouTube channel.

Cirque Colors is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are 11ml, non-toxic, Vegan and Cruelty-Free.

Bitchin’

Description: a neon purple with turquoise green shimmer.

My photos show Bitchin’ in 2 coats plus glossy top coat.

I had a feeling folks would be curious at how Bitchin’ compares to Holo Taco’s Electric Sweetener Holo Taco Rock Candy . They are not dupes, the shades of purple are different as is the shimmer. The Holo Taco polish also has a lot more holographic happening in it.

I also wanted to compare this polish to Cirque Colors Jammin Out (Twisted Tea Party Collection). Very different polishes despite both on paper being purple bases with shimmer and holographic.

Catalina

Description: a faded neon blue with pink shimmer.

My photos show Catalina in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. I think this will likely be a solid 3 coater as it’s on the sheer side and needs building up.

I also knew folks would be curious at how this one compares to Holo Taco’s new polish called Blue Rizzler. Once again, not dupes but similar.

Day Tripper

Description: a neon coral with gold shimmer.

Day Tripper I love how brighr this is! It’s a very orangey red shade. This was a litle bit patchy as far as coverage goes so this will porbably be a 3 coater unless you go in for super thick coats.

My photos show Day Tripper in 3 coats.

Flamingo

Description: a neon pink with blue shimmer.

Flamingo this one was just slightly on the thicker side but not so thick that I had issues with application.

My photos show Flamingo in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. I do think this is a 2-3 coater depending on personal preference.

High Society

Description: a neon green with copper shimmer.

High Society in comparison to the other polishes in this release, this one was a little bit patchy as far as application goes. I really needed that third coat to even out coverage. The third coat is totally worth it as this one screams neon slime green.

My photos show High Society in 3 coats plus glossy top coat.

Kokomo

Description: a neon turquoise with a pink shimmer

Kokomo was the only polish in this release that I noticed dried down more sheer than it initially applies. I’ll still call it a 2-3 coater but I have a feeling it’s likely to be a three coater.

My photos show Kokomo in 3 coats plus glossy top coat.

Final Thoughts

Frequent readers of this blog will know that I have a weakness when it comes to collections that can be arranged in a rainbow. The fact that this collection can be arranged in a rainbow AND is a neon, it was a no brainer that I was going to be very happy with it.

I did find that I had varying degrees of VNL with all of the polishes in the collection but I wouldn’t classify these as sheers. I do wish the delicate holographic that is scattered throughout all of these was just a tiny bit more obvious, I’m still happy with them because neon + rainbow.

My top picks are going to be Day Tripper, High Society, Flamingo and Catalina gets an honorable mention.

Hello and welcome to my nail polish blog! I love all things nail related and collect nail polish. Yes, that’s really a thing! I post swatches, nail art, and some other things on occasion. I’m a fur mom to 8 (plus a whole lot of chickens!) from Connecticut. More

I might have been a tiny bit too excited about this release. It features one of my favorite Cirque polishes ever (Rhapsody In Blue) AND one of my (now former) lemmings Golightly. Ugh these were SO good!

I’ll have a blog post and live swatch video up shortly for these! If you can’t wait, they’re available now AND discounted on the Cirque Colors website. Use my affiliate code NicoleLovesNails to save 10% 💖
