Howdy friends! I will be having quite a few Bee’s Knees Lacquer posts coming up and this first one is for a charity polish that the brand is doing. They have done a Brain Tumor Awareness polish for the past several years (2023 & 2024) in honor of Sarah’s cousin Micheal who passed away.

All profits from this year’s polish will be split between the Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center / Angels Among Us and the Idrees Danish Memorial Scholarship groups. It will go on sale alongside the newest Bee’s Knees collection called Swamp Witch Era (blog post coming up!).

U Is For You and Me

Description:an updated version of our popular polish Your Golden Traitor, this is a golden pastel multichrome that shifts from green to blue with some extra green to blue microflake to give it an extra bump of sparkle

U Is For You and Me is one of those super and shimmery polishes that we all think of when we think of BKL. It had a lovely formula, the base didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I had zero application issues.

The shimmer is SUPER glowy and the added microflake add a nice visual texture but without any actual texture. While the brand does describe this as a pastel multichrome, my brain still categories this as a shifty shimmer. It has a green to blue color shift. I could see the blue shift in person but it didn’t pop well in photos.

My photos show U Is For You and Me in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. I did have VNL with this polish. Removal will be super easy but just slightly messy.

U Is For You and Me compared to Your Golden Traitor

The brand does describe this as being an updated version to their polish Your Golden Traitor (originally released in the Lore Olympus Collection + Mystery Polishes). YGT has a small particle size.

I’ll be honest, my original swatch photos of Your Golden Traitor look pretty overexposed (sorry if memory serves I had just started shooting manual back then) but I wouldn’t say the two polishes are so similar that they are spot on dupes but the vibes are similar.
