Hi friends! The final blog post for today is for the new mystery bags coming later this month from Bee’s Knees Lacquer! For April the mystery bags are inspired by the book A Tempest Of Tea.

All of the polishes this month have a shimmer and light reflective glitter combination finish! I have fallen in love with that combination so I am pretty dang excited to pick up one of these bags.

The A Tempest Of Tea mystery bags go on sale on April 19th on the BKL website. Along with these bags, there will also be a new collection called Heartless Hunter as well as a new charity polish. My blog posts for those went up earlier today.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are in 15ml bottles, 5 free, cruelty free and vegan friendly.

Dulce Periculum

Description: a clear base with pink to green shimmer and silver light reflective glitter

Dulce Periculum had a fantastic formula. This doesn’t have that wet sand type of application that some thicker reflective glitter polishes have.

Since this is in a clear base, you do need to build it up to gain opacity but you won’t be able to reach full opacity without using an opaque base.

The shimmer has a pink, orange/yellow to green color shift. The reflective glitters do give the polish some texture, depending on how thick your top coat is you’ll want to go in for 1-2 coats of it.

My photos show Dulce Periculum in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. Do NOT scrub this polish off, use the soak off method or a peel off base coat.

We’re Meant To Stand Out

Description: a clear base with orange to gold shimmer and lime light reflective glitter

We’re Meant To Stand Out even though this polish is in a clear base, due to the reflective glitter the overall look on the nail is very much a lime green.

The formula was also fantastic. I was really happy that this didn’t have that super thick wet sand application like some of the BKL colored reflective glitters in years past. The glitters do give off some texture, so 1-2 coats of top coat will be needed for a smooth finish.

The shimmer in here is strong and so gorgeous! Because the reflective glitter gives the nail a green look, the shimmer really pops and contrasts nicely against the green.

My photos show We’re Meant To Stand Out in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. Once again, do NOT scrub this polish off. Use the soak off method of a peel off base coat.

Sale Information

The A Tempest of Tea mystery bags go on sale April 19th on the Bee’s Knees Lacquer website. They will be available for a week long pre-order. Each bag features two 15ml nail polishes for $25 plus shipping.

There is a one bag per person limit but multiple people in the same household can purchase bags. All of the polishes will be available at a later date without the mystery polish option. When they are available individually, these will all be priced at $14.

At the time of this release, BKL will also have a new charity polish and collection. There will also be some overpours available from the Once Upon A Broken Heart collection and mystery bags.
