All Mixed Up Lacquers Winter 2020 + Black Friday Sale Details!
Today’s blog post features a new-to-me brand, All Mixed Up Lacquers. This week kinda came up on me out of nowhere so I’m a little behind in getting blog posts up. This collection is available now on their website. Their Black Friday sale is also going on now! Details and links will be at the end of this post. Let’s just get in to swatches!
In case you haven’t heard of this brand before. All Mixed Up Lacquers polishes are 5 free, handmade in the US and cruelty free. They also pride themselves on being more ecofriendly and only use recycled packaging for shipping.
Disclaimer: I was sent these products in exchange for photos and a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. My photos were taken indoors with daylight LED bulbs and outdoors in natural light. I used the KB Shimmer Clearly On Top glossy top coat and the Glisten & Glow matte top coat for my photos.
By The Fireplace
Description: A light flame orange jelly loaded with violet / green / pink crystal flakes
Price: $10 USD
By The Fireplace In the bottle, it looks like a deep orange or even a very light brown depending on lighting. It’s very much orange on the nail. The flakies are very transparent and delicate looking. I had a hard time getting them photographed to my liking so I pulled out my lightbox from storage. It was pretty sheer so I used 4 coats for my photo. It could be used as a topper if vnl is an issue for you.
Glittery Ice
Description: A chunky glittery topper with loads of metallic and holographic pink, turquoise, silver, and rose gold glitters
Price: $7 USD
Glittery Ice This had a great formula. I found you got a really good amount of glitter on the nail and it applied evenly. I did end up doing just a small amount of dabbing to get a few glitters where I wanted them but that was just me being extra. I decided to show this polish in 3 coats on its own since that’s how I personally wanted to wear it. Since it is a topper, I also have a nail wheel swatch of this over all of the polishes plus over black because I think most people might end up using this as it was intended.
Note: In my photo showing how this looks in 1 vs 2 vs 3 coats, I didn’t do any glitter placement on those nails.
Jammy Time
Description: A fun purple jelly packed full of violet / green / pink crystal flakes
Price: $9 USD
Jammy Time had an identical formula to By The Fireplace. Purple jellies with flakies are a personal weakness of mine (I can’t stop buying them) so I really liked this one! The flakies were slightly easier to photograph than the previous polish but I still had a hard time photographing them. It is a jelly, so it’s on the sheer side. I used 4 coats for my photos. You will have some vnl with this one so using it over an opaque polish (I am curious how it will look over Tacky Sweater, I think they’d be great together) is an option.
Tacky Sweater
Description: Berry linear holographic
Price: $10 USD
Tacky Sweater is listed as a berry but I see it more of a cooler toned pink. It’s *extremely* holographic! I picked up some new lighting just for holographic polishes and I am so glad that I was able to show off that holo flame! This had a fantastic formula that was buttery smooth. I used 3 thin coats for my photos. On my clear acrylic I had some vnl but I don’t think natural nails will have that issue.
Wonderful Time of The Year
Description: gold linear holographic
Price: $10 USD
Wonderful Time of The Year had an identical fantastic formula to Tacky Sweater. Buttery smooth in application and almost jelly like. It’s listed as a gold holo but I feel like it’s more yellow than gold because it doesn’t *feel* like a metallic to me? Yellow or gold, it’s gorgeous! Really loved this one. My bottle shot for this seems to have disappeared along with my brush shots so I apologize that I don’t have those.
Final Thoughts
This collection was a really great introduction to the brand for me. The formulas were all really great to work with. I really liked the brush (December PPU sneak peak on that brush shot) on these! I think my personal favorites would be Tacky Sweater, Jammy Time and Glittery Ice with Wonderful Time Of The Year getting an honorable mention. Those colors just happened to speak to me the most.
