Starrily Pi Day Collection Swatches & Review

Hi friends! Today I am sharing the Pi Day collection from Starrily. When I saw this collection pop up in my email, I knew that I NEEDED to have it. I am not really a Pi Day celebrator (other than liking making pie in general at least) but these polishes looked so good in the promo images!

I was extra excited to get an email from Starrily shortly after these released that they were sending them over to me in PR. Thank you to the Starrily team for gifting me this release! Starrily is a US based boutique nail polish brand. Their polishes are in 15ml bottles, 5 free, cruelty free and vegan friendly.

3.14K Gold

Description: a brilliant coppery golden micro flakie foil

3.14K Gold had a fantastic formula. This polish has a very metallic-y look to it. I don’t know why but I thought for sure this polish was going to be magnetic. I checked, it’s not but I feel like it still looks like one.

The base didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. I’m not generally a huge lover of metallic looking polishes but apparently foil metallics get a pass because this was so beautiful on the nails!

I know I’m not the only one who is a little bit disappointed that this polish isn’t actually gold despite having gold in the name. I will give Starrily a pass mostly because of the puns. I did notice that out in natural light the polish has an almost golden glow to it though.

My photos show 3.14k Gold in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. The flakies in here do not dry down textured but they will make removal very messy.

Blueberry Pi

Description: a peach-pink base with strong blue shimmer and blue/purple flakies

Blueberry Pi is a pretty versatile polish due to it being a fairly sheer one. You can use it as a topper or build it up to gain a stronger shimmer and a ton of flakies.

On the first coat, you can more easily see the peachy base color. I honestly hated how this looked on me in one coat, I wasn’t a huge fan of the shade of peach. However, I LOVE how this looks built up.

If you want to wear this as a topper and also get out a lot of flakies, holding the bottle upside down or giving it a really good shake would be smart. I found by building this up in three coats, I got out a good amount of flakies. But on the first coat, there weren’t a ton on the nail.

My photos show Blueberry Pi in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. For personal wear, I would opt to wear this in two coats. I decided to add a third just to see how opaque it would get. I did some VNL with this polish.

Nothing in here will be difficult to remove but the shimmer and flakies will make removal pretty messy.

Infinity Rose

Description: a dusky rose gold linear holographic with intense holographic effect

Infinity Rose hot damn this polish is stunning!! Starrily was not kidding around when they described this as having intense holographic!

The formula on Infinity Rose was fantastic, the base didn’t feel overly thick or thin and it applies very smoothly. This is one of those linear holos that dries down more holographic than it appears wet.

I’m having a hard time deciding on if I feel this is a rose gold shade. It’s definitely pink/rosey but it doesn’t quite look rose gold to me.

Final Thoughts

I knew when the email went out for this release that I NEEDED to have these polishes in my life. Blueberry Pi was the one that stood out to me the strongest.

All of these polishes were amazing. As I said in the intro, I am not a math girl (I suck at math) but I do like celebrating Pi Day as an excuse to make pie. I like that a nail polish company came out with a Pi Day release.

Even though I do wish 3.14k Gold was actually a gold polish and not orange/copper, I still think it’s gorgeous.

My top pick is 10000% going to be Blueberry Pi but all of these knocked my socks off.

Sale Information

The Pi Day collection is available right now on the Starrily website. Each polish is priced at $16 for 15ml bottles. There is also a set of Pi Day themed nail art stickers available for $10 as well as a nifty collection box that comes with all 3 polishes plus stickers for $50.

I believe the only limited edition items in this release are the stickers and collection box.
