Hey friends! Today I have swatches for the newest Project Artistry. This month for teams we have Light vs Darkness. I also have a new to the blog brand, Red Panda Lacquer, to share today. This month I think I am going to be Team Light.

Project Artistry is a monthly indie collab based in Canada. Each month, there are 2 opposing themes that handmade indie makers submit items for. The themes are a versus, and the winning theme gets a chance to come back later in the year.

My Indie Polish – Love Is Light
Team: Light
Inspiration: Love
Description: A lilac Crelly with a range of matte and sparkle glitters

Love Is Light had a wonderful formula. It starts off on the sheer side so you will want to build it up for opacity. Definitely give this a good shake before using it to get the glitters dispersed in the bottle. I did keep the bottle upside down between coats as I found I got more glitters out that way.
This has a ton of different types of glitters on it! I was seeing squares, hexes, circles, stars in mostly matte but there seemed to be some smaller glitters that were holographic or iridescent, in a variety of sizes. This polish is so fun! It’s no secret that this brand has quickly become one of my favorites, especially for glitter polishes.
In 3 coats you reach full opacity. It didn’t seem to dry down overly textured so I used 1 coat of top coat for my photos. Removal will be on the more tricky side due to the amount of glitters.

Red Panda Lacquer – Queen Beryl
Team: Dark
Inspiration: Queen Beryl from Sailor Moon
Description: a plum scattered holo with red shimmer
Price: $13 for 15ml Cap: 50
Queen Beryl had a really nice formula. It did seem to dry very quickly but I didn’t have any application issues. I did notice that if I didn’t have enough polish on my brush, that I caused streaks but that is a user error on my part. The shimmer in this has a bit of a pinkish tone to it. There were some very slight brush strokes through the shimmer. This is very holographic!
This polish is on the more sheer side so you will want to build it up for full opacity. So I think this will be a 2-3 coater depending on your nail length. If you don’t have much of a free edge, you could get away with 2 coats. I used 3 coats for my photos.
Nothing in here will dry down textured or be difficult to remove. Side note, I LOVE that this brand used Queen Beryl as their inspiration! I’m a big Sailor Moon fan and this makes me really happy.
