Happy Friday everyone. Today’s blog post is for the November Polished Gamers Box. For November, the theme is Tomb Raider! Apologies this blog post is so late going up. I have a ton of blog posts (and videos) planned for the next couple of days and have been scrambling trying to get everything up.

The Polished Gamers Box aka PGB is a monthly collaboration between handmade indie brands. Each month has a different theme and themes are always related to gaming.
BCB Lacquers – Temple Run
Inspiration: Fan art from The Temple of the Witch
Description: a soft purple/blue/green shifting shimmer polish with holo.
Price: $13.00 for 16.5ml | Cap: 150
Temple Run had a fantastic formula. It did not feel overly thick or thin and I do not have any application issues. The shimmer is very color shifty, I was seeing all of the described colors in person. I did find when wet, it showed a lot of brush strokes. When dry, most of them disappeared but there were still a few once the polish dried.
I think Temple Run will be a 2-3 coater depending on personal preference. If you don’t mind VNL, this is passable in 2 coats. I used 3 coats for my photos. Nothing in here will dry textured or be difficult to remove.

Color Spectrum Polish – Desolate Worlds
Inspiration: Cover art
Description: an ivy green to gunmetal base with gold to purple metallic flakies, purple to green to pink to gold shifting iridescent flakies and holographic
Price: $12 for 13ml | Cap: 75 bottles
Desolate Worlds had a wonderful formula. It didn’t feel overly thick or thin, I did find it wanted to run down the stem of the brush a little bit but nothing that made application difficult. The holographic in this is VERY strong! The shimmer base is also very color shifty.
I swatched Desolate Worlds in 3 coats. I think this is sheer enough in 1 coat that it could potentially be used as a topper. Nothing in here will dry textured or be difficult to remove.

MTK Design – What A Wonderful World
Inspiration: Shadow of the Tomb Raider End Boss scenery
Description: Berry jelly w/ iridescent flakies, multi-chrome flakes, shimmers, and sparkles shifting from pink to copper to gold to green.
Price: $12 for 15ml| Cap: None
What A Wonderful World had a fantastic formula. Since this is a jelly base, you will want to build it up for opacity. I found in 3 coats it was just slightly not as dark as it was in the bottle. I think this would look really cool in a jelly sandwich nail art design.
The flakies seem to be the star of the show in this polish. I used 3 coats for my swatches.
If I hadn’t had the description in front of me, I wouldn’t have spotted the shimmer effect because the flakies are just that pretty. Nothing in here will dry down textured or be difficult to remove. I also didn’t experience any staining.

My Indie Polish – So Beautiful
Inspiration: when Tanya’s son first saw Lara Croft in the game…..she’s sooooo beautiful.
Description: a blackened bronze that turns bright red with assorted multi color shifting flakies as well
Price: $13 for 15ml | Cap: None
So Beautiful had a really great formula. It started changing on me right away. I found the warm state is an orange leaning red and the cold state is a very dark brown that looks black in some lighting.
I found that there is a gold to green to blue shifting micro flake plus a larger chrome flake in this polosh.
I think this will be a solid 3 coater. It was a touch bit sheer in 2 coats.

NeVerMind Apothecary – Crimson Fire
Inspiration: Crimson Fire from Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Description: A light grey crelly packed with red and black metallic flakes
Price: $13 for 15ml | Cap: 200
Crimson Fire had a fantastic crelly formula. All of the flakies spread out very evenly and easily. The grey base is very light, not so light that it looks white in most lighting but it would be close.
The flakies are very small and do not dry down textured however I did notice that they are a little bit hungry for top coat. To get the glossiest finish, I would recommend pairing this polish with a glitter eating top coat.
I used 3 coats for my photos. Nothing in here will dry down textured. I don’t see removal being overly difficult but it will be a little messy.

Night Owl Lacquer – Temple Of The Witch
Inspiration: The Temple of the Witch expansion.
Description: a jade crelly filled with black/red multichrome micro flakies
Price: $12.40 for 15ml | Cap: None
Temple Of The Witch had a really fantastic formula. The base color is a beautiful jade green. The flakies all spread out evenly and easily on their own without giving off textured. They are very color shifty so you will see a black to red to orange color shift on the nail.
This polish will likely be a 2-3 coater depending on your own personal preference. I found the third coat added just a touch more opacity and deepened the base color slightly.
My photos show Temple Of The Witch in 3 coats. Removal on this polish won’t be difficult and I didn’t experience any staining.

Profound Sass – Do You Think You’re The Hero? Necklace
Inspiration: Tomb Raider – technically from an antagonist
Description: This is one of my favorite quotes because, duh, she is definitely the hero! Each letter is individually hammered into a rainbow stainless steel pendant. The shades of rainbow will vary; if it is one of the darker variants, the text will be white. If it’s a lighter variant (as shown) the text will be black.
Price: $25 | Cap: 30
Product Size: 0.25″x1.3″ pendant on a 18″ Chain – 0.2oz
This necklace is really gorgeous. It feels like a very nice quality, it doesn’t feel like costume or children’s jewelry. I don’t generally have issues with metal sensitivity, other than in earrings, so I haven’t experienced any problems with this necklace.
I just love the rainbow/multichrome colors this has!

Red Eyed Lacquer – Angel Of Darkness
Inspiration: Angel of Darkness
Description: A deep purple crelly with gold/ shifting shimmer and holo micro flakies
Price: $12.50 for 12ml | Cap: 100 bottles
Angel Of Darkness had a fantastic formula. The purple base is deep but not so deep that it will look black in low lighting. I found the shimmer had a color shift that to me, looked like it went from a copper to gold to green. I wasn’t seeing any brush strokes through it.
The flakies are very holographic! They won’t dry down textured or be difficult to remove.
I swatched Angel Of Darkness in 3 coats. I think will likely be a solid 3 coater. It wasn’t quite the color that I was seeing in the bottle in 2 coats but coverage was even.
