Today’s blog post is for the Minecraft themed Polished Gamers Box for June 2021! While I am not very knowledgable about this game, I will say I loved these polishes! The June PGB opens this Tuesday. As always, sale details will be at the end of the post.

The Polished Gamers Box aka PGB is a monthly collaboration between handmade indie brands. Each month has a different theme and themes are always related to video games. Items available range from nail polish to wax melts to stamping plates and even jewelry!

1422 Designs – The She Shed

Inspiration: The she shed Bonnie’s 8 year old builds for her in the game
Description: A black jelly polish with purple-blue micro flakies, green-gold-orange-pink shifting flakies, and silver flecks. Depending on how you polish, you might not get to opacity in 2-3 coats. You can layer this over a coat of black polish to build it up quicker!

The She Shed had a great formula. The flakies all spread out really nicely on their own without giving off much texture. I didn’t have any application issues.

If you go in for thin-normal thickness of coats, you will have some VNL. *Maybe* if you go in for thicker coats, you can reach full opacity in 3 coats. Personally, I like the more sheer look that I got in 3 coats. I also swatched this in 1 coat over a black creme (Heather’s Hues Shadow). This is sheer enough in 1 coat that it could be used as a topper over a variety of colors.

Nothing in here dried textured or will be overly difficult to remove.

Color Spectrum Polish – Ahh! Fireballs!

Description: A white crelly with red holo square glitters, red square glitters, black square glitters, red holo glitters, gold aurora shimmer, and gold glitters

Ahh! Fireballs! had a great formula. It didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. The glitters all spread out evenly without needing to do anything special to get them applied.

The white crelly base is very opaque. Shorter nails will probably be good in 2 coats. I had a few light spots and also wanted more glitter on my nails so I used 3 coats for my photos. Removal will be tricky from all of the glitters.

My Indie Polish – Creep This

Description: a neat green with white, grey and white glitters
Price: $12.50 for 15ml Cap: 100

Creep This had a great crelly formula. It didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. The green base is a pastel minty green shade.

The glitters all spread out evenly on their own. I found the white square glitters tended to be more sparse on the nail. Holding the bottle upside down between coats seems to help get them on the brush.

This will be a 2-3 coater depending on application. I found my live swatch nail needed that third coat but my other nails were passable in two. The third coat does deepen the base color though.

This does dry slightly textured. I opted to go in with 2 coats of top coat to make sure it was perfectly smooth. Removal will difficult from all of the glitters.

NeVerMind Polish – The Ender Times

Description: A black polish with a subtle purple shimmer and purple and silver square glitter
Price: $11.50 for 15ml Cap: 200

The Ender Times had a great formula. In the bottle, it’s hard to tell if it’s a black base or a very dark purple. I find on the nail it’s definitely a black base with a purple shimmer. The glitters are fairly textured but spread out nicely without needing to do anything special. The shimmer is very strong in this and the glitters are very holographic.

It applied a little unevenly at first but builds up nicely in 3 coats. This can also be used as a topper. I showed it in 1 coat over a navy blue creme (KBShimmer’s Stream On, Stream Away.)

This does dry down textured from all of those glitters, so I used 2 coats of top coat to smooth this out.

Red Eyed Lacquer – Creepers, Endermen, and Dungeons, Oh My!

Description: A bright purple crelly with a strong red/pink/orange shifting shimmer.
Price: $12.50 for 12ml Cap: 150 bottles

Creepers, Endermen, and Dungeons, Oh My! also had a really great formula. This applied wonderfully smooth and self-leveled perfectly. The shimmer is very strong despite the base being so opaque.

This will be opaque in 2 coats on pretty much everyone. I had a tiny bit of transparency on my tips so I used 3 coats. No issues with staining or removal.

Swamp Gloss – Me And My Pig

Description: A vibrant turquoise with shimmer that shifts violet/pink/gold/green
Price: $13 for 15ml Cap: 200

Me And My Pig also had a great jelly formula. This one is on the more sheer side so you will want to build it up. The shimmer is very color shifty in person and it didn’t have any brush strokes.

To get the turquoise color you see in the bottle, you will want to go in for 3 coats. There will still be some VNL in 3 coats. No issues with staining or removal.

The Polished Gamers Box opens for orders on the 15th of each month at 12PM Moutain time (2PM Eastern time) on the website, PolishedGamersBox.com. There will be a ton more items than what I have shown available. All items are capped so be sure to get there when the shop opens! All PGB items are sold on preorder and will ship in around 4 weeks after the sale period.
