Hey friends! I am super excited to share this collection with you all today. As a 90s kid, I was OBSESSED with everything Lisa Frank! Honestly even as an adult the colors and art style of Lisa Frank still pulls me in.
This Orly collection was originally launched in the summer of 2021 and I actually swatched it over the summer. Buuuuut I was so swamped with other posts that this one kind of just got pushed back over and over again. But whatever, it’s still available and it’s gorgeous so I am posting about it now.
Now that’s an intro haha. For all of the creme swatches, I swatched the toppers in this release on my ring and pinky fingers. Let’s just get into the swatches.

*coming soon*
Orly is a mainstream nail polish brand. Their polishes are in 18ml bottles, 12 free, vegan and cruelty free.
Purrty In Pink
Description: magenta creme
Purrty In Pink had a great formula. It applied very nicely and self leveled really well. I found it was a little runny but I didn’t have any application issues. Color wise, this was the color that spoke to me the most. It is a *very* bright magenta/hot pink creme polish.
It was surprisingly opaque. If you go in for thicker coats, this will be a 1 coater. I used 2 coats for my photos.
Obviously, this won’t be difficult to remove and I also didn’t experience any staining.
Easy Tiger
Description: orange creme
Easy Tiger had a pretty good formula. It was a little more finicky to apply that Purrty In Pink but I wouldn’t say it was a hard formula to work with. It also self leveled really well. It was also a lot runnier than Purrty In Pink but again, I didn’t have any issues applying it.
This polish will be a 2-3 coater depending on your application. My ring finger has some leftover hard gel on it so I found that it needed a third coat so that it wouldn’t look lumpy. My other nails were good in 2 coats.
No issues on removal or with staining.
Sundae Sunshine
Description: yellow creme
Sundae Sunshine had a decent formula. It was a little finicky and watery but it builds up nicely. This one will run down the stem of your brush quite a bit so definitely keep an eye on it. If you go in for thick coats, this will flood your cuticle area.
The base is a super bright cartoony sunshine yellow. I think this one will likely be a solid 3 coater on everything. Out of curiosity, I tried applying this in 2 coats over a white base and found you get pretty much the same coverage that way as you do in 3 coats on its own.
The color of this was so pretty, I honestly didn’t mind that the formula and application weren’t the best. No issues on removal.
In Your Zorbit
Description: lime green creme
In Your Zorbit had a pretty good formula. It was a little bit patchy but the light spots evened out in 3 coats. It wasn’t difficult to work with but I did have to be mindful of how much polish I was getting out on my brush.
The base color is a BRIGHT green. It made me think of lime Skittles from when I was a kid. I used 3 coats for my photos. I think this one will likely be a 3 coater but if you aren’t picky about the light spots, it’s ok in 2 coats.
This polish also dries down fairly flat so you will want top coat for a glossy finish.
Sky’s The Limit
Description: cyan blue creme
Sky’s The Limit had a great formula. It didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. This was the other creme that I was most interested in color wise.
The base color on this is a bright, vibrant cartoon sky blue shade. It will likely be a 2-3 coater depending on your application and preference. I used 3 coats for my photos.
I had pretty ok coverage in 2 coats but there were a few light spots. If you aren’t overly picky like me, this will be good in 2 coats.
Make A Splash
Description: purple creme
Make A Splash had a pretty good formula. It felt a little thin and I kept flooding my cuticles with it moreso than the other polishes. It didn’t feel watery, just thin.
Despite being thin, it had pretty good coverage. I only needed 2 coats for full opacity. My photos show Make A Splash in 2 coats.
I love this shade of purple so similar to the yellow polish, I can look past any formula issues just because the color is pretty.
Hits The Spot
Description: confetti glitter topper
Hits The Spot had a really great formula. This is a very densely packed glitter topper. The time between when I originally swatched this collection (summer) and when I swatched the toppers for my photos, caused Hits The Spot to thicken up a bit. Not so thick that I needed to add thinner but thick enough to be noticeable, I didn’t have any application issues with it in it’s thickened state.
The glitters all spread out very evenly and easily with minimal dabbing. The star came out very easily as well. I did find myself dabbing the star glitters into certain spots as they seemed to want to get stuck on the brush a fair bit.
My photos show Hits The Spot in 1 coat over Royal-Tea Blue by Holo Taco and in 2 coats on its own on my ring finger. This polish dries down fairly textured so I would recommend pairing it with a glitter smoothing top coat. I used the Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber before going in with a quick dry top coat.
Removal will be on the difficult side if you try to scrub it off. I soaked it off fairly easily with the soak off method. Click here for my blog post on easy glitter removal.
Out Of This World
Description: holographic topper
Out Of This World had a wonderful formula. The base didn’t feel thick at all and I didn’t have any application issues. From what I am seeing in person, it appears this has both really small holographic micro glitters and iridescent micro glitters. The glitters are all really small so they won’t dry textured.
I swatched Out Of This World in 1 coat over Holo Taco’s Royal-Tea Blue and in 3 coats on its own on my ring finger. Nothing in here will be difficult to remove.
Final Thoughts
I was ridiculously excited about this collab when I saw it! The colors are SO Lisa Frank and as a 90s kid, I was all about Lisa Frank merchandise. I do wish that the creme bottles had more pizzaz to them like the topper bottles did.
The formulas on this collection were ok, they weren’t the best but they weren’t bad either. I’m not mad at dropping $73 on them so there’s that. If you have similar colors to these, I wouldn’t say you have to run out and go get them. If you are a 90s kid who just wants some Lisa Frank themed nail polish, GO GET THESE. The colors are very Lisa Frank-esque.
My top picks are going to be Hits The Spot and Purrty In Pink.
Comparisons
- Pink: (L-R) Orly Mind Over Mayhem vs Purrty In Pink
- Orange: (L-R) Orly’s Tangerine Dream, Easy Tiger & Kitsch You Later
- Yellow: (L-R) Orly’s Emancipate This, Sundae Sunshine & Road Troppin
- Blue: (L-R) Sky’s The Limit, China Glaze DJ Blue My Mind & Too Busy Being Awesome
- Purple: (L-R) Orly Make A Splash & Synthetic Symphony
None of the Orly polishes are dupes by any means. The closest polish I have to being a dupe to one of these was the China Glaze polish DJ Blue My Mind. It was *so* similar to Sky’s The Limit. I would say STL had a better formula though.
