This technique works best for those of you who store your nail polish in Ikea Helmers or Alexes. I personally use 6 helmers to store my nail polish collection. This method makes it so that I can see the colors of my nail polish as I open the drawer.
I did not invent this method it has been floating around the internet for years. This is just how I do it after playing around with a few different methods. I go into depth on why I do what I do in the video tutorial.

Products You Will Need
- 12mm Glass Cabochons (200 for $10.99)
- 12mm Glass Cabochons (220 for $9.59)
- 12mm Glass Cabochons On AliExpress 200 for $7.03
I haven’t noticed a difference in quality between the 3 of these sellers. I have purchased all of them previously. The AliExpress option is obviously cheaper but if you’re like me and don’t feel like waiting for a month+… Amazon is a good option too. I find 12mm works for bottle sizes from 7ml-18ml.
- Glue Dots 1/2 inch Sheet Of 600 OR Glue Dots on a roll of 200 (both work, which you purchase will be personal preference)
- Double Sided Tape
- Paper
Before switching to using the method above, I used silicone dots with adhesive already on them (like these). I found over time, the adhesive dries up and polish often pops off of the silicone making a mess in my helmer drawers. I don’t recommend using them anymore but if you want to use them anyway, you do you.
