Hi friends! Today I am super happy to share with you all the newest release from Holo Taco. As an all things spooky lover, the ~aesthetics~ of this collection spoke to my heart.
This collection is in collaboration between Holo Taco and YouTuber Safiya Nygaard. It released this past Saturday and is limited edition. At the time of posting some of the polishes, the collection box and a black nail file have sold out. The brand plans on doing a small restock on the nail polishes that are sold out so fret not if you missed these!
As always, more sale information can be found at the end of the post and don’t forget to check out my live swatch video if you would like to see these in natural lighting!

Bat B*tch
Description: a black pearlescent formula with a delicate blue micro-shimmer
Bat B*tch as someone who generally dislikes pearlescent finishes, I surprised myself and kinda liked this one. You don’t get that brush strokey effect that is what I usually dislike most about pearlescent finishes.
The shimmer gives the polish an overall blue toned black look on the nail. It’s a very soft delicate shimmer.
This one starts off a little sheer and uneven but builds up nicely. I found coverage was pretty good in two coats but looking at my photos, I can see a small light spot on my ring finger. So I will call this one a 2-3 coater depending on your personal preference.
My photos show Bat B*tch in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. Nothing in here will be difficult to remove and I had no issues with staining.
Berry Me In Holo
Description: a berry lipstick shade in crushed holographic formula
Berry Me In Holo Oh how I love the Holo Taco crushed holographic formula! This one has a bit of a crelly like formula, it’s not sheer like a jelly and it had really great coverage.
The holo flakies do not dry down textured like a glitter would but they do give the polish a flat dry down so you will need top coat for a glossy finish. The base on this did feel slightly on the thicker side but what I usually expect from a Holo Taco polish.
While the color of this isn’t my personal cup of tea, it does seem on brand for Safiya. It reminds me of one of her lipstick mixing video shades.
My photos show Berry Me In Holo in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. Removal will be messy but not overly difficult.
Brucie
Description: a muted dark teal in linear holographic formula
Brucie was the thickest polish in the release for me. I went back and forth on if I wanted to add thinner to it. I ended up not adding any thinner as I didn’t struggle with application. I will likely just end up adding a dash of thinner in the next time I reach for this one.
Due to that thickness, this is fairly opaque. If you don’t mind going in for thicker coats, I can see this one being a one coater. I opted to go i nfor 2 thinner coats for my photos.
In typical Holo Taco fashion, there is a TON of holographic pigment in here! You get a lot of bang for your buck with this one. The holographic pigment does cause the polish to dry down pretty dull so you will want top coat for a glossy finish.
My photos show Brucie in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. This polish won’t dry down textured like a glitter so removal will be very easy.
Feeling Fiendish
Description: a medium warm purple-mauve shade in an opaque crème formula
Feeling Fiendish had a fantastic formula. As with nearly all of the Holo Taco cremes, it was on the thicker side but applied buttery smooth and self leveled perfectly.
I am not a lover of mauve shades in general and I prefer my purples to be cooler in tone. All that to say, I actually did like how this one looked on me which I wasn’t expecting.
In person, I felt like I was seeing some dark spots on my nails after two coats. I don’t think they show up in my photos at all but I went back and forth on if I wanted to add a third coat for my swatch. I’ll call this one a 2-3 coater depending on application.
My photos show Feeling Fiendish in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. Super easy removal and I didn’t experience any staining.
Spirit Fingers
Description: a cool grey jelly formula with a magenta-red shimmer and a dash of scattered holo
Spirit Fingers is the kind of polish that I want Holo Taco to release more often. It is SO beautiful!
In the indie space, we would call this formulation a crelly and not a jelly but I recognize that is spilling hairs. In my opinion, this is more opaque than a typical jelly base. You do still need to build it up to gain opacity.
The shimmer in here is more color shifty than the description leads on. I saw a pinky red, to gold with green at very extreme angles. You will mainly see the pinky red to gold shifts on the nail. The hologrpahic in here gives the polish a delicate sparkle without any texture.
My photos show Spirit Fingers in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. Folks with longer nails than me will likely want to go in for a third coat. Nothing in here will be difficult to remove.
Final Thoughts
I knew before spoilers ever dropped that this would be a fantastic release. I had very high hopes for it so I am glad that it was worth the hype. My only complaint is that I really wish we got a nail polish featuring bat shaped glitters. That was my #1 hope for this collection so I am disappointed that we didn’t get one.
Holo Taco did however release a 2 gram bag of bat glitters to do glitter placmeemnt with so there were some bat glitters involved in this release, I just wish they were in a nail polish.
My top picks from this release are going to the Spirit Fingers and Bury Me In Holo.
