[Paid PR – Post Disclosure Page]
Hey friends! Today’s blog post is for the newest release from Holo Taco! This is their 4 pieces Work/Life Balance collection. I won’t lie, when the folks over at Holo Taco reached out to me to swatch this collection I SCREAMED.
Huge thanks to the folks over at Holo Taco HQ for sending this collection (plus some extra goodies!) over. I used the Holo Taco Super Glossy Taco, Matte Taco, and Smoothing Base for all of my swatches today. I also played around with some of the Holo Taco toppers for each swatch.
This collection launched today and is available right now on the Holo Taco website. As always, links and sale details can be found at the end of the post. I will also have some comparisons up at the end of the post as well.

Holo Taco is a US based nail polish brand. Their polishes are in 12ml bottles, 5 free, cruelty free and vegan.
Bored Meeting
Description: a medium-bright blue polish with a crème formula
Price: $11
Bored Meeting had a fantastic formula. It was *slightly* on the thicker side but around what I expect from an opaque creme polish. It applied butter smooth and self leveled perfectly.
My photos show Bored Meetings in 2 coats plus top coat. Board meeting dries down fairly glossy on its own but I did use top coat anyway.
I also paired this polish with the following Holo Taco toppers: Aurora Unicorn Skin (pointer) Solar Unicorn Skin (middle), Galactic Unicorn Skin (ring) & Cosmic Unicorn Skin (pinky). I couldn’t decide which topper to use so I just went with a bunch!
Here For The Payday
Description: a bright chartreuse green polish with a crème formula
Price: $11
Here For The Payday had a wonderful formula. It did not feel overly thick or thin and I had no application issues. At first, this one was a little bit streaky in comparison to Board Meeting. If you go in for very thin coats you will have some fairly obvious streaks on the first coat. It self level really nicely as well.
I would say the base color is somewhere between a lime green and chartreuse green. My photos show Here For The Payday in 2 coats plus top coat. This polish dried down fairly glossy on its own.
I paired this polish with the Holo Taco Lunar Unicorn Skin flakie topper. I think this topper might be my favorite of the unicorn skins toppers.
Left On Red
Description: a bright red polish with a crème formula
Price: $11
Left On Red had a wonderful formula. It was very opaque and was a 1 coater on me. I was very surprised that this polish applied without that jelly/crelly-like feel that red polishes often have. It felt *slightly* on the thicker side but not at all overly thick in my opinion.
Readers of the blog know that reds often lean very orange on me as I have golden/yellow undertones in my skin. I found that this photographed a lot more orange toned than it was looking on me in person. In person it is a true red with warm undertones. My single nail swatch photo is the most color accurate to what you will see in person.
My photos show Left On Red in 2 coats plus glossy and matte top coats. I also paired it with the Holo Taco toppers, Polar Princess (Winter Shimmers collection), and Scattered Holo toppers. OMG I LOVED this topper combo!
This polish is *very* pigmented so I did have some slight staining with this polish. I found that the staining did come off when I washed my hands but I was a little concerned about it because both my nails and my hand that I used to remove the polish were red.
Work Bestie
Description: a warm purple polish with a crème formula
Price: $11
Work Bestie had a fantastic formula. It felt *slightly* thinner than the previous polishes but not at all thin. It also applied perfectly and buttery smooth.
Despite feeling a little thinner, it was still very opaque. It had great coverage in 1 coat however it wasn’t quite a 1 coater. To get the color you see in the bottle, you will want to go in for a second coat. The second coat deepens the base color.
My photos show Work Bestie in 2 coats plus top coat. I also used the following Holo Taco toppers, Flakie Holo Taco & Solar Unicorn skin.
I was so in love with how this combo turned out that I took an extra macro shot.
Final Thoughts
So my top picks from this release are going to be Bored Meeting and Work Bestie. No surprise to anyone that the blue and purple are my favorites. All of the polishes in this release were fantastic.
The Holo Taco has become one of my favorite brands for creme polishes. I really love that I can use 1 of their cremes and have an opaque base for toppers.
With my PR package, they sent over all of the currently available Holo Taco toppers, top coats and base coats. So I had a lot of fun pairing the toppers with these polishes.
I also finally got a chance to use the brand’s peel off base coat which I really like for swatching.
Comparisons
Here is Bored Meeting compared to Shady Navy. They are obviously, very different but I wanted to show them together anyway
Matcha Maker and High Tea Hibiscus were both released in the Tea Cremes collection
And I also did some swatch wheel comparisons of a few of the cremes that my husband got for me for my birthday.

[…] I had a feeling that someone would be curious about how Brick Wall compares to some of Holo Taco’s other red cremes. I pulled out Hot Take (Fire & Ice Bundle) and Left On Red (Work/Life Balance Collection). […]
