I am really excited for today’s blog post for 2 reasons. The first, obviously because all of these polishes are beautiful. The second, two of the brands are starting new themes! Heather’s Hues is starting a new theme with polishes based off of the TV show, The Handmade’s Tale! Color Spectrum Polish is not only starting a new theme but making their HHC debut with polishes based off of Legally Blonde! On top of all of that, I have another amazing thermal from Fancy Gloss to share so today’s blog post is pretty awesome if I do say so myself. I will have links at the end of the post to where you can purchase these.
Hella Handmade Creations is a monthly indie polish collaboration. Makers each pick their own theme and make a series of polishes based on that theme. Each month brands have a new polish, that is exclusive to the Hella Handmade Creations website.
Disclaimer: I was sent these products as PR in exchange for photographs and an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. My photos were taken indoors with daylight/LED bulbs and outdoors in natural light. I used the KB Shimmer Clearly On Top glossy top coat, Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber (for glitter polishes) and the Glisten & Glow Matte top coat for my photos.
Color Spectrum Polish – Because I’m Too… Blonde
Theme: Legally Blonde
Description: A stunning sheer neon pink with gold unicorn shimmers and iridescent flakies that shift pink to purple to green to gold
Price: $12 for 13ml Cap: 100 bottles
Because I’m Too… Blonde had a great formula that felt on the thinner side but not to thin that it was watery. It applies really well and is very bright in person! It is a sheer polish so you will need to build it up. Since it is sheer, it can be used as a topper over other base colors. The flakies really pop in this base! I used 3 coats (with a thicker final coat) for my photos.
I did have VNL with this polish that will translate over to natural nails. By the way, this is the perfect polish to kick off a Legally Blonde theme! It’s very much an Elle Wood’s polish. Removal isn’t difficult.

Fancy Gloss – Let Your Hair Down
Theme: Disney Princesses
Description: a light violet (cold) to white (warm) gold glitter, pink/copper/gold clear flakes, and gold flakes.
Price: $11 for 15ml Cap: 100 bottles
Let Your Hair Down had a great formula. It wasn’t too thick or too thin. It did apply textured due to all of the glitter but it applies evenly on the nail. The glitters spread out evenly on the nail without needing to do anything special. I found that the flakies are kind of hidden on the nail. You can see them but they’re not as pronounced as the glitters.
The cold state was opaque in 2 coats but the warm state looked a little patchy on me so I used 3 coats for my photos. This did dry down a little textured so I used a glitter eating top coat before my glossy top coat. Removal will be tricky. This color of this in the cold state is really interesting. It’s like a purpley pink with a hint of dustiness but not really a mauve or violet in my opinion. I found it leaned more pink in my photos.

Heather’s Hues – Blessed Be The Fruit
Theme: The Handmaid’s Tale
Description: a blackened red to bright red thermal packed with a variety of holo and red to pink sparks.
Price: $12.50 for 15ml Cap: None
Blessed Be The Fruit also great formula with no application issues. It wasn’t too thick or too thin. It has really great coverage on the first coat. I was a actually surprised at how opaque it was. In the warm state, it is a beautiful all year-round red. In the cold state, the blackened red is a vampy shade of red without seeming brown or purple. I’d honestly call it a dark brick red.
My hands were pretty warm the day I swatched this so it starting changing on me right away. This really comes alive with top coat! The holo sparkle is really pretty. This was opaque in 2 coats on me. Removal isn’t difficult.

Heather’s Hues Blessed Be The Fruit vs Feel It In The Scare (September 2020 PPU)
The only polish I have to compare today would another red thermal by Heather’s Hues. Back in September’s PPU, Heather’s Hues released Feel It In The Scare. This was a blood red to black flakie filled thermal. These aren’t really too similar other than they are both red in the warm state. FIITS is a (eerie) blood red and BBRF is a non-season specific shade of red. In the cold states, FIITS is a very dark brown/black and BBRF is a dark vampy red. Not dupes!
