Hella Handmade Creations 7th Anniversary Collection
[Press Samples – Post Disclosure Page]
Hey friends! Today I am sharing a special collection for the 7th anniversary of the Hella Handmade Creations shop. This collection was originally part of multiple giveaways over in the HHC Facebook groups late last year. This blog post (and the video) originally were going up around the same time but if you all remember, I had some burnout around the time so everything got pushed back in favor of taking care of myself.
However, I just saw that these polishes will finally be available for people to purchase during this month’s HHC sale period. As always links and sale details can be found at the end of the post.

Atomic Polish – Āwikiwiki
Description: a deep purple base with aurora pigment and iridescent flakes that shift green to gold to red
Price: $13
Āwikiwiki had a wonderful jelly formula. The shimmer was very strong and had a red, gold to green color shift. The flakies all spread out very evenly and easily without giving off any noticeable texture.
Since this was a jelly, it did need to be built up to reach full opacity. I did have some VNL on the clear part of my nail but I couldn’t see my nail line on my natural nails. I used 3 coats for my photos. This polish seemed to dry slightly more sheer than it applied.
I also found that it dried down dull so you will want top coat for a glossy finish. Removal won’t be overly difficult, I iddn;t experience any staining.
Atomic Polish – Holo Holo
Description: a deep blue base filled with pigment that shifts aqua blue to navy blue as well as micro holographic pigment
Holo Holo also had a great formula. The shimmer is on the more subtle side but also obvious if that makes any sense. The blue base paired with the shimmer gives off ocean vibes to me.
I found the holographic pigment was also on the subtle side in “normal” indoor lighting but it was obvious under bright direct lighting. I think it will look incredibly holographic in sunlight.
This polish will likely be a 2-3 coater depending on your nail length and personal preference. I used 3 coats for my photos. Nothing in here dried down textured but it does dry dull so you will want top coat for a glossy finish.
This was also very pigmented so I would recommend doubling up on base coat to prevent staining. I didn’t experience any staining.
Atomic Polish – Kohala
Description: a deep pink base with shimmer that shifts gold to red and purple micro glitter
Kohala had a really great formula. The base didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. My eyes were picking up a medium sized iridescent flakie plus the mcro glitter. Neither seemed to dry down with noticeable texture.
It applied surprisingly opaque but it seemed to dry down a little bit more sheer than it applied. I can see people with short nails intentionally getting away with 2 coats.
My photos show Kohala in 3 coats. This polish dries down slightly dull so you will want top coat for a glossy finish.
Swamp Gloss – Aloha Nui Loa
Description: a greigey base with orange undertones with holographic pigments and pink-orange-gold shifting shimmer
Aloha Nui Loa had a fantastic formula. As you can see in the pictures, it was very sheer so you will have obvious VNL (full on visible nail plate honestly) with this one. That sheerness does make it so that the holographic and shimmer really glow/sparkle!
This was both very shimmery and holographic. It will work really well as a topper if VNL isn’t your thing.
My photos show Aloha Nui Loa in 3 coats plus top coat. Nothing in here will be difficult to remove, you will want top coat for a glossy finish.
Swamp Gloss – Malama
Description: a blue heavy blurple with subtle shimmer and stacked with red and blue holographic micro glitters, red metallic flakes and iridescent shifting flakes
Malama had a fantastic formula. I found the described base color to be accurate, it is a blue leaning blurple. The iridescent flakies are a mix of medium to larger in size. I got out a couple of the larger ones on my nails with I always love!
To get the most opacity, I would recommend wearing this polish in 3 coats. The base is slightly sheer but the components add a lot of opacity so they will distract from your VNL. My photos show Malama in 3 coats.
This polish does seem to dry a little textured. I paired it with 1 coat of the Swamp Gloss Quick Schtick top coat (gifted) and that seemed to smooth it out completely. I find polishes by this brand that involve glitter somehow always smooth out really easily with just 1 coat of top coat.
Removal will be on the difficult side if you try to scrub this polish off.

Swamp Gloss – Pokai Bay
Description: a sheer turquoise base packed with blue/indigo Aurora and turquoise metallic flakes
Pokai Bay had a really great formula. The base didn’t feel overly thick and I didn’t have any application issues. I found the metallic flakes all spread out very evenly and easily.
This polish is on the more sheer side so you will want to build it up for opacity. The metallic flakes will kinda distract from your nail line with this but it will still be visible in 3 coats.
My photos show Pokai Bay in 3 coats plus top coat. Removal won’t be overly difficult but it will be on the messy side if you try to scrub it off.
