[Press Samples – Post Disclosure Page]
Hey friends! Today’s blog post is for the newest release by Heather’s Hues. I am so freaking happy right now that the duo for October is a trio! Over in the Heather’s Hues Facebook group, there was another tie so we have a trio this month! On top of that, I recently hit 1.5K followers on Instagram and 700 on YouTube, so I am doing a giveaway! Yay! This is my very first giveaway! Details on that will be at the end of this post.
If you are new, each month in the Heather’s Hues Facebook group, Heather asks members of the group to submit and vote on photos for her to turn into nail polish. You do not need to be a member to purchase these, but if you are a member you get special perks!
The October trio is available right now on the Heather’s Hues website. As always, I will have links, full sale details and comparisons will be at the end of this post.
Heather’s Hues is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are in 15ml bottlesz, 5 free, cruelty free and vegan.

Fairy Dust Is A Must
Description: grey crelly polish kissed with a pink to gold shimmer and holo as well as a mix of glitters, iridescent flakes, and metallic microflakes in various shades of pink
Fairy Dust Is A Must had a fantastic crelly/creme formula. When I saw the inspiration photos for these polishes, this was the one I was most excited for. Grey polishes are always a favorite for me, especially when pink is involved. This did not disappoint!
The base for this is a medium grey and it is filled with a very strong pink to gold to green shimmer. The glitters are scattered on the nail and do not give off any noticeable texture. This is also very holographic!
I swatched this one in 2 coats. Longer nails might need a third but I think most people will be good in 2.
Night Light
Description: a thermal polish that’s a dusty blue when cold and taupe nude when warm. It’s kissed with a red-orange-gold shimmer and a mix of iridescent glitters and flakes in shades of red, orange, and gold
Night Light had a fantastic formula. The flakies and glitters all spread out evenly and easily. I did get a few larger flakies out on my nail but they did not dry textured. There is a very strong shimmer in this polish as well.
The thermal aspect started changing on me right away. Both colors are exactly as described.
This will be opaque in 2-3 coats depending on personal preference. I swatched it in 3 coats. Nothing in here will dry textured once you add top coat. Removal won’t be overly difficult.
Smokey Eyed
Description: a thermal polish that’s a blackened purple when cold and violet-magenta when warm. It’s kissed with a violet-blue shimmer and a mix of glitters and microshreds in shades of orange, purple, and gray
Smokey Eyed also had a fantastic formula. The glitters in this all spread out evenly. I didn’t need to hold the bottle upside down to get great coverage. The cold state for this one is a dark eggplant type of purple. The warm state is a brighter but slightly muted magenta. Paired with the orange glitters, this is a very Halloween appropriate polish.
The glitters are small enough that they won’t dry textured. However you will want top coat as this does dry down dull as well as to bring out the shimmer.
This polish was opaque on me in 2 coats. However, my photos do show it in 3 coats. I honestly forget to check the opacity of the warm state after the second coat until I had already started my third coat. But from what I saw while I was doing my live swatch, this is opaque in both states after 2 coats.

Final Thoughts
I knew as soon as I saw the inspiration photos that Fairy Dust Is A Must was going to be my top pick. Greys with shimmer are just something that I find myself gravitating towards again and again.
Last year’s October duo was one of my favorite releases from Heather EVER so my hopes were very high this year. Heather once again did not disappoint me!

Congratulations on hitting follower milestones! Your videos and blog posts are a must-see when they come out. It really helps a lot in the shopping experience, and I’m glad you don’t shy away from comparisons.
For this release, I’m with you about the grey being the favorite 💖. I have a growing collection of grey polishes. Although, a particular finish has not emerged as a main player, I love the variety.
