[Press Samples – Post Disclosure Page]
Hey friends! Today’s blog post is for the newest monthly duo by Heather’s Hues. First of all, I can NOT believe we are already in May. Like where did this year go??
Anyway, the theme for May is Grow and as per usual, Heather knocked these out of the park. The May duo is available right now on the Heather’s Hues website.
If you are new to the brand, each month Heather asks members of her Facebook group to submit and vote on photos following a certain theme. Heather then turns the winning photos into a monthly duo! As always, full sale details and links can be found at the end of the post.

Heather’s Hues is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are in 15ml bottles, 5 free, cruelty free and vegan friendly.
Cherry Berry
Description: a grape crelly packed with a mix of metallic, matte and holo glitters in blues, purples, and burgundy. It also has iridescent flakes in blue-violet-gold and pink-orange-gold
Cherry Berry had a beautiful crelly formula. The base didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. It started out a little bit sheer but it built up to reach full opacity. This is jam packed with glitters and flakies! This polish has some of the larger flakies in it which always make me do a happy dance when I get those out on the nail.
All of those components spread out evenly and easily however they do dry down with significant texture. You will want to double up on top coat or use a glitter smoothing top coat to smooth them out. I didn’t need to hold the bottle upside down or do any glitter placement with this one.
I will note, that I did find this made my nails look a little more chonky (thick) than usual but I kinda expect that with polishes with this much glitter plus doubling up on top coat.
One more note, I didn’t realize this until AFTER I swatched this polish that the coloring on this is a bit off. In person, this is an artificial grape colored polish. My white balance was off when I swatched it so it looks a lot lighter in my photos than it does in person. Check out my live swatch video to see a more color accurate version of this polish.
My photos show Cherry Berry in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. I used the KBShimmer Glitter Smoothing top coat before going in with my quick dry top coat. Removal will be on the difficult side if you try to scrub this polish off. I used a peel off base (Holo Taco Peely Base) but soaking this off will also work.
Just Wing It
Description: a deep blue to purple magnetic kissed with a holographic magnetic effect!! It also has a rainbow of iridescent and multichrome flakes
Just Wing It had a beautiful formula. It was *slightly* on the thicker side but I found it very easy to work with. The magnetic effects magnetized very easily for me using both a ring magnet (photos) and a bar magnet (video). I think this was my first time swatching a double magnetic polish? I actually wore this for about 5 days and I didn’t notice the magnetic effect looking less magnetized than it does in my swatch photos.
While I was swatching this polish, I wrote in my notes that it was “EXTREMELY HOLO!!!”. I didn’t realize that the magnetic effect was holographic but looking at my photos and video, I can see how the holo did in fact magnetize along with the multichrome.
The flakies in here do not give off any texture but you will want top coat for a glossy finish as this dries dull. I am usually morally opposed to magnetizing holographic polishes but I couldn’t help myself with this one. I really really loved it with a matte top coat.
So I fully recognize that this collage is unnecessary because this “only” shifts between 2 colors but I was playing with my new camera and like making these sooo.
My photos show Just Wing It in 2 coats plus both glossy and matte top coat. Removal won’t be overly difficult, I soaked it off with no issues and didn’t experience any staining.

Final Thoughts
I’m sure it will be no surprise to anyone that I loved this month’s duo haha. What I DO think will be a surprise is that the magnetic polish was my favorite. I know I know, I am a glitter lover at heart but there was just something about Just Wing It that I really loved. I couldn’t stop staring at my nails the entire time I was wearing it.
