Happy Pride month everyone! Today I am sharing the newest monthly duo by Heather’s Hues. For June the theme is Summer Vibes. If you are new around here, each month Heather asks members of her Facebook group to submit photos following a theme and later vote on the photos for her to turn into nail polish!
The June duo is available right now on the Heather’s Hues website. As always, sale details and links can be found at the end of the post.

Heather’s Hues is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are in 15ml bottles, 5 free, cruelty free and vegan friendly.
Flamingo Float
Description: a bright turquoise jelly with a blue-teal shimmer, iridescent blue-pink-violet flakes, metallic teal flakes, and a mix of pink neon and holo glitters
Flamingo Float had a fantastic formula. The base didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. I found the glitters and flakies all spread out very evenly with minimal texture. I did get out some big ol flakies but they also didn’t give off much if any noticeable texture.
The base color on this polish to my eye is a darker but still bright turquoise/aqua. It seems to have some neon in it as it does glow under blacklight. It was really hard to photograph so I did end up color correcting to try to show the color I was seeing in person.
My photos show Flamingo Float in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coat. I did pair it with a glitter smoothing top coat before going in with my glossy top coat but I don’t think it was 100% necessary.
I did have some VNL but it was exaggerated by my gel extensions. I don’t think it will be as noticeable on natural nails but it’s possible depending on the thickness of coats. Removal will be on the more difficult side if you try to scrub this polish off. I used a peel off base coat (Holo Taco Peely Base).
Strawberry Lemonade
Description: a red jelly filled with coral metallic shreds, a mix of glitters in yellow and red, and iridescent flakes in red-orange-gold and pink-orange-gold.
Strawberry Lemonade had a fantastic formula. The base didn’t feel overly thick at all despite having a TON of glitter and flakies in it. All of the components spread out evenly with very minimal texture.
I found the base color to be a candy apple red shade. I ended up needing to color correct my photos as they turned out very orange which tends to happen with me.
My photos show Strawberry Lemonade in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. I don’t think you will *need* to use a glitter smoothing top coat with this polish. I used one on 2 nails and found that they didn’t feel any smoother than the nails without. However, I also only had this on for less than an hour.
Final Thoughts
I am sure it is a surprise to no one that I really liked this month’s duo. My stand out top pick is going to be Flamingo Float but that’s just because it has pink glitter in it.
Sale Information
The June 2022 duo by Heather’s Hues is available right now on the Heather’s Hues website. Each polish is priced at $12.50 or you can pick up the duo for $25. At the time post upload, the May duo is still available but won’t be for long.
Also something that likely won’t be available for much longer is Fluffer Butter. Heather retires that product during the summer months (it will melt in high heat) so be sure to pick up a jar before it’s gone until Autumn.
