Hey y’all! Geeky Bee’s Nail Colors is at it again with another anime inspired release. This one is inspired by the anime Evangelion. This is a collection of 3 metallics with corresponding toppers plus a bonus topper if you pick up the whole collection. The Defenders of Tokyo-3 collection is available now!

The metallics and toppers all have comparable formulas, so I will talk about formulas after each set. As always, sale details will be at the end of this post. My live swatch video is up now on my YouTube channel.

Geeky Bee’s Nail Colors is a indie polish brand based in the US. Their polishes are handmade, 5 free and cruelty-free.

Unit 00

Inspiration: Eva unit 00
Description: a bright blue metallic

Unit 01

Inspiration: Eva unit 01
Description: a deep purple metallic

Unit 02

Inspiration: Eva unit 02
Description: a bright warm red metallic

All of the metallic shades seem to have the exact same formula. They’re slightly on the thicker side but not unusually so. I didn’t have any application issues with them.

They all apply similar to a jelly polish and build up best in 3 coats. However, Unit 01 was passable in 2 coats if you obvious don’t mind obvious visible nail line. Unit 002 was the most sheer out of the 3.

With 3 coats, there will still be VNL at some angles but I didn’t find it super noticeable with the except of Unit 02. The metallic shimmer effect isn’t brush strokey at all. I didn’t experience staining or have any other issues.

Berserk (Bonus Polish)

Description: a clear base, full of tiny red flakies and lots of different red glitters.

The toppers all had great formulas. These were also on the thicker side but pretty much what I would expect from glitter toppers. The glitters and flakies in all of these spread out evenly and easily. I didn’t have any application issues.

I personally prefer the toppers over black as I found I could see the colors of the flakies and glitters best over black. The only exception would be Berserk over Unit 01. I really liked that color combination. I loved how Halloween-y I Musn’t Run Away looked over black.

These all dried down surprisingly smooth for such densely packed toppers. I only needed 1 coat of top coat to smooth them out and removal was very easy for a glitter toppers.
