Hi friends! Today I am sharing the March 2024 Fandom Flakies box. Fandom Flakies is making some changes to how they do the box so starting this month, there will no longer be a guest maker. Good news for customers, that makes the box a little bit more budget friendly!
For March the brands were inspired by the X-Man animated series. If you missed the trailer, there’s a new sequel show coming out that picks up where the 90s show left off.

Fandom Flakies is a monthly indie collaboration between Bee’s Knees Lacquer, Night Owl Lacquer and Ribbits Stickits. Each month has a new theme and the polishes are exclusive to the box.
Bees Knees Lacquer – Jubilee
Description: a bright pink base with gold aurora shimmer, gold to green iridescent flakes, and a scattering of blue crystal flakes
Jubilee this polish is stinking cute! Both the formula and application were fantastic. Despite there being reflective glitter in this polish, I didn’t find the base to feel overly thick.
This had better coverage than I was expecting on the first two coats however, it does seem to dry down a little bit more sheer than it initially applies. The reflective glitter gives this polish some slight texture but not super gritty.
Sadly it was raining when I was swatching this polish so I wasn’t able to get a natural light shot of the reflective glitter. It is very sparkly and looks great in a variety of light sources!
My photos show Jubilee in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. If you don’t mind a hint of VNL coverage is passable in two coats. Make sure to use the soak off method of a peel off base coat for the easiest removal.

Night Owl Lacquer – Mystique
Description: a cobalt blue filled with glowy micro flake shimmer that shifts magenta/red/gold/green and crystal chameleon flakes that shift red/orange/gold/green
Mystique is one of those polishes that I feel doesn’t photograph nearly s beautiful as it looks in person.
I found the formula to be fantastic, the base was a little bit on the thicker side but not at all overly thick. This has a jelly base so you do need to build it up to gain opacity. I found in three coats I did have some hints of VNL but nothing too egregious.
This polish has a mix of medium to larger flakies but they don’t dry down textured. There are some MASSIVE flakies stuck to the sides of my bottle but I wasn’t able to get any of them out onto the nail.
My photos show Mystique in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. Removal for this polish won’t be overly difficult but it will be very messy.

Ribbits Stickits
For the nail art, I used a base of Orly’s Sheer Nude with China Glaze Make A Spectacle on my middle and ring fingers I used Sweet & Sour Lacquer’s Struck On You on the pointer and pinky fingers.
I was trying to go for Jubilee’s fireworks, but in hindsight, I should have used Storm because of you know, lightning bolts.
Scent Description: a blend of cherry, pomegranate, grapefruit, and mangosteen
This month’s scent is for all of my fellow fruity fragrance lovers! It’s sweet and fruity and I love it!
