Fandom Flakies is a monthly indie collaboration between Bee’s Knees Lacquer, Night Owl Lacquer and Ribbits Stickits.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer Don’t Blink 2.0

Description: a clear base packed full of silver holo flakes, as well as aqua to blue to purple and black to red multichrome flakes

Don’t Blink 2.0 As someone who LOVES holographic flakies, this polish made me incredibly happy. The formula was fantastic, since this is in a clear base you do need to get in a few coats to reach full opacity. However, you can also use this one as a topper in one coat.

You get a bunch of rainbows from the holographic flakies as well as the other types of flakies. None of which dry down textured.

My photos show Don’t Blink 2.0 in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. I wouldn’t recommend scrubbing this one off.

Night Owl Lacquer Brilliant!

Description: a black tinted base filled with a rainbow of vibrant multichrome color shifting flakes, black metallic flakes and holographic micro flakies

Brilliant! I was so excited to get this polish onto my nails! A black base with rainbow anything is always a win in my boom.

Formula was fantastic, a little bit on the thicker side due to the amount of flakies but still very easy to apply. Because the base was on the thicker side I opted to use 2 coats for my swatches. The base is also pretty sheer and largely the opacity you get is from the flakies so you do need to build it up.

There is a whole rainbow of flakies in this polish. For whatever reason it was making me think of the Infinity Stones from the Marvel movies.

While the flakies do give off some texture, I found one coat of top coat smoothed them out nicely.

My photos show Brilliant! in 2 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. Use the soak off method, do not scrub this one off either.

Ribbits Stickies

Sonic Screwdriver scent description: blend of fresh squeezed orange juice, cranberry juice, and peach schnapps

This month’s scent at my first sniff smelled like soap but once I put it on my skin I could smell the citrus-y scent notes and what I think was the peach schnapps. It reminded me of a mixed drink.
