And for the second blog post of the day, I have the second August Fandom Flakies box which is a charity/special edition where ALL profits will be donated and split between Utah Abortion Fund and Holler Health & Justice. Pretty damn awesome right?
This box will go on sale on August 19th, right after the sale period for the Mortal Kombat box. As always, links and sale details can be found at the end of the post.

Fandom Flakies is a monthly indie collaboration between Bee’s Knees Lacquer, Night Owl Lacquer and Ribbits Stickits. Each month has a guest maker, a new theme and polishes are exclusive to the box.
Bee’s Knees Lacquer – We Dissent
Description: deep blue base with dark blue to purple UCC flakes and holo flakes
(this is a sister to Save The Pupfish)
We Dissent had a fantastic formula. The base was a gorgeous dark blue and was very pigmented. I honestly thought for sure this was going to stain me but I didn’t experience any staining. I would still recommend doubling up on your basecoat if blue polishes tend to stain you though.
The flakies all spread out evenly and easily without giving off any texture. I feel like blue jelly bases with flakies is one of my favorite combos. Like this just looks SO pretty. The holo flakies were especially stunning in natural lighting.
My photos show We Dissent in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. I think this polish will likely be a 2-3 coater depending on nail length and personal preference. The third coat seems to deepen the base slightly.
Note: this polish has the funny blue scent some blue polishes have

Night Owl Lacquer – Abort the Patriarchy
Description: a burgundy jelly filled with red/orange/gold crystal flakes, purple metallic flakes and black holographic micro glitter flakes
Abort the Patriarchy had a fantastic formula. This one starts off a little bit sheer/uneven but it reaches full opacity in 3 coats.
The glitters and flakies spread out evenly but do seem to be very top coat hungry. I would recommend 2 coats of top coat for a smooth finish, using a glitter smoothing top coat will give a plumper glossy look on the nail.
I was practically drooling while I was swatching this polish. The base color combo paired with the flakies and glitters was top notch. I also got out a few larger flakies and they looked really great with matte top coat.
My photos show Abort the Patriarchy in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. I wouldn’t recommend scrubbing this polish off as it will tear up your cotton ball.
Ribbits Stickits
For the special edition box, Ribbits Stickits will have some waterslide decals. I freaking love these decals!!
For this time, I opted to use a sheer milky white as my base so that it would be easier to see the decals. I think this will likely be my go-to in the future haha.

Final Thoughts
I loved the Bee’s Knees Lacquer and Night Owl Lacquer decided to do a special edition box in support of uterus owners’ rights to police their own bodies. And I especially love that ALL of the profits will be going to charities in support of that right.
Between being for charity and the items being awesome, you can’t go wrong with this box! However, if you would like to split the items in the box be sure to check out the Fandom Flakies Facebook group. There is a thread over there for customers to split the box with one another.
