Happy St Patrick’s Day! Ok, I don’t generally celebrate St Patrick’s Day or even really do nail art for it but for whatever reason, this year I decided to do some themed nail art for it.
I did this design during my livestream last Sunday. If you missed the live, the VOD is up over on my YouTube channel. I go live every Sunday afternoon at 3PM Eastern time.
I am not sure what to call this design. Cracked St Patrick’s Day nail art? Cracked gold nail art? Whatever it’s called, I had fun doing it and wearing it!
The inspiration for this design was simple. I have been adding cabochons to all of the polishes in my China Glaze collection gearing up for a full on nail room reorganization. My love for crackle finish polishes has been rekindled and I am kind of obsessed with them again. So I knew that I HAD to use at least one of the crackles.
I had planned on doing unicorns and/or rainbows on my accent nails but this stamping plate was calling to me. The chat voted and we went with a kinda rainbow marble stamp.
For my base color, I used one of my favorite green cremes which is So Fresh And So Green by Night Owl Lacquer. It’s bright and fun and the perfect St Patrick’s color. By the way, my NOL links are now affiliate links so if you use them, I do receive a commission at no added cost to you.
If you are unfamiliar with crackle polishes, they basically work by cracking on your nail to make unique and fun designs. Aka nail art with minimal effort which is pretty much my preference for nail art.
To do the accent nails, I just marbled some stamping polishes onto my plate for some easy but fancy looking stamping.
Items Used
- Night Owl Lacquer So Fresh And So Green
- China Glaze Tarnished Gold [try eBay or Mercari for this one second hand)
- Stamping plate: Maniology BMXL 214
- Stamping polishes: I know the gold is Twinkled T’s So Extra (use code NicoleLovesNails to save an extra 10%) and the purpley blue is a discontinued one from Maniology called Boy Tears. I am a dope and forgot to write down all of the colors that I used, sorry!
