Bee’s Knees Lacquer The Witcher Collection + Mysteries

[Sponsored Post – Post Disclosure Page]

Hey friends! Today’s second blog post is for The Witcher collection by Bee’s Knees Lacquer! I also have some spoilers for the mystery polishes that will also be released at this same time. I tucked those in at the end of the post so that it won’t spoil it for anyone who wants to be surprised.

This collection launches on January 28th on the Bee’s Knees Lacquer website. As always, full sale details can be found towards the end of the post. Also don’t forget to check out my blog post for the Facebook group customs that are also available at this time!

**Just a heads-up that this collection features a polish with an f-bomb in the name.**

F*ck

Description:  a black to red multichrome full of light reflective glitter
Price: $13

F*ck had a fantastic formula. It started off a little sheer but build up for full opacity very easily. The multichrome base shifts from a black to red to orange to gold. The reflective glitters all spread out very evenly and easily with only slight texture.

I found the reflective glitters in here are really interesting. In the bottle, I can see that they are blue. On the nail, I was see a mixture of blue and silver glitter spakles. I found under very direct lighting, the blue really comes out to play. In particular, my phone’s camera was picking up the blue better than my actual camera.

This polish will be a 2-3 coater depending on the thickness of your coats. I used 3 coats for my photos. I also paired this with a glitter smoothing top coat (Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber) before going in with my quick dry top coat. I prefer to pair reflective polishes with a glitter smoothing top coat for a smoothest finish possible, but that will be up to your own personal preference.

Removal won’t be overly difficult but the glitters will make it messy. I soaked this off with no issues.

It Is What I’m Owed

Description: a light turquoise full of icy silver to blue shimmer
Price: $13

It Is What I’m Owed had a great formula. I found in person this was pulling more of a green toned turquoise and my camera’s viewfinder is was pulling very blue toned. The shimmer in here does show very slight brush strokes.

I found this polish had really great coverage. I did have a *tiny* amount of VNL on the clear part of my nail. So I did use 3 coats for my photos. I would just wear this one in 2 coats.

Kikimora

Description: a deep olive with green to blue sibling UP. $16

Kikimora had a really great jelly formula. This one is pretty sheer you will definitely have some VNL with this polish even after three coats. The shimmer in here is very strong and as described. I didn’t see any brush strokes through it.

The base color is a deep olive green that starts off a little bit murky/swampy. This will be a great polish to use as a topper or pair with the VNL blurring base coat, if VNL isn’t your cup of tea. Personally, I don’t mind seeing my nail line so I like the prugly feel this polish has.

My photos show Kikimora in 3 coats as well as in 1 coat over Mutant And Ash (undie) by Bee’s Knees on my thumbnail. Nothing i nhere will be difficult to remove and I didn’t experience any staining.

Pure Chaos

Description: a deep violet with glowy pink iridescent flakes. Because of the violet base, this shade may stain
Price: $12.50

Pure Chaos had a wonderful jelly formula. It starts off a little sheer but it applied evenly and built up really nicely. The flakies all spread out very evenly and easily without giving off any texture.

My photos show Pure Chaos in 3 coats with both glossy and matte top coat. I loved this one matte! Removal won’t be overly difficult but it will be a little messy due to the flakies.

This polish will have some very slight VNL when under bright/direct lighting. It will be pretty minimal though. The brand does warn that this polish may cause some staining. I had some very slight staining on the tips of my nails but it came off after a few swatches.

She Is Your Destiny

Description: a blue to black to purple multichrome
Price: $13.50

She Is Your Destiny also had a really great formula. It started off a little bit sheer for the built-up very nicely. Like all of the other polishes, I didn’t have any application issues.

In person, I was seeing the black to blue to purple color shift as well as red and extreme angles. I didn’t see any brush strokes through the multichrome base.

My photos show She Is Your Destiny in 3 coats. This will be a 2-3 coater depending on your nail length and personal preference. For personal wear, I would wear this one in 2 coats.

The Law of Surprise

Description: a rich cobalt with aqua to blue shimmer
Price: $13

The Law of Surprise had a fantastic formula. I really love blue shades like this one! The shimmer effect in here was very strong and didn’t show brush strokes. It also has a slight metallic look on the nail.

My photos show The Law Of Surprise in 3 coats. Nothing in here will be difficult to remove but you will want top coat for a glossy finish. I didn’t experience any staining.

The Lion Cub of Cintra

Description: an aqua to cobalt shimmer polish with deep blue light reflective glitter. We recommend using a glossy top coat to get maximum sparkle from the glitter
$13

The Lion Cub of Cintra had a fantastic jelly formula. The glitters all spread out very evenly and easily. I found this didn’t dry down nearly as textured as other reflective polishes that I have tried but I did still pair this polish with a glitter smoothing top coat to make sure I got the smoothest finish possible.

The shimmer effect was very strong. In person, I was seeing an aqua, cobalt, purple color shift. I didn’t notice any brush strokes. Since this polish is in a jelly base, you will want to build it up for the most opacity. I found in 3 coats, I was at about 90% opacity.

My photos show The Lion Cub of Cintra in 3 coats plus 1 coat of a glitter smoothing top coat (Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber) and top coat. For the easiest removal, I would suggest soaking this polish off or pairing it with a peel off base coat.

Toss a Coin to Your Witcher

Description: a black polish with gold to green to blue shimmer
Price: $13.50

Toss a Coin to Your Witcher had a really great and very opaque formula. The shimmer in here is very color shifty and I was seeing all of the described colors. There don’t seem to be any brush strokes in it.

I swatched Toss a Coin to Your Witcher in 2 coats but if you go in for a thick coat, this could be opaque in 1 coat. The polish dries down slightly dull so you will want top coat for a glossy finish.

I was very surprised at how much I liked this one as I am not really a black + green polish lover.

Final Thoughts

I really loved this collection! I always get a little giddy when I get to swatch a collection that is inspired by a show that I have actually seen. The Witcher has been one of my favorite Netflix shows.

I thought the colors for this release went well together. My favorite polishes from this release were F**k, Toss A Coin To Your Witcher, and from the mysteries I really liked You Need A Nap!
