Hi friends! This will be the first of two blog posts for today. Bee’s Knees Lacquer is celebrating their 6th anniversary with a new collection and some mystery bags! I am hoping that if you click on this post you want to be spoiled by what is inside the mystery bags because there will be spoilers in this post!!

I Was Almost A Pancake

Description: a grape purple base with gold to red multichrome shimmer

I Was Almost A Pancake goes on a little bit patchy on that first coat but builds up nicely. If you aren’t super picky, coverage is ok in two coats but I found the bit of patchiness a little meh so I opted to go in for three coats.

I found the base doesn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. While this might have started out as a grape base, the shimmer makes this look more red-toned.

The shade of red reminds me of the red grape dimetapp cough medicine from when I was a kid. I don’t know if that is still even a thing but that’s what the color reminded me of.

My photos show I Was Almost A Pancake in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. Removal will be very easy but messy from the shimmer, I didn’t experience any staining.

My Lucky Day

Description: a deep red base with emerald green to blue to purple to pink multichrome shimmer. *may stain*

My Lucky Day also had a fantastic formula with a very strong shimmer effect. The base color on this one seems more berry toned than a true red but I would wager that is due to the shimmer colors.

Similar to the polishes in the main part of this release, on the first coat it’s a little bit uneven but builds up nicely. In order to get the same color that you see in the bottle, this will likely be a three coater. The shimmer colors as described and doesn’t show brush strokes.

My photos show My Lucky Day in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. I didn’t personally experience any staining with this one but I did double up on my base coat.

8. Hasta Luego – a raisin purple Doomicorn sibling with the same green to aqua to blue shimmer
9. Skillz – a hunter green with black to red multichrome shimmer.
10. I Was Almost A Pancake – a grape purple base with gold to red multichrome shimmer.
11. Del Lago – a sheer sky blue with strong red to green shimmer.
12. A Warm Welcome – a creamsicle orange Doomicorn sibling with the same green to aqua to blue shimmer.

The Resident Evil 4 inspired mystery bags goes on sale starting on September 15th at 7PM on the Bee’s Knees Lacquer website. Each bag is priced at $25 for two 15ml bottles. International shipping is available.

For the first 3 days, the bags are limited to 1 bag per person but not per address. After the 18th at midnight, the limit will be lifted however the brand cannot gaurantee that you won’t recieve duplicates if you place multiple orders.
