Live Swatch Video

Bee’s Knees Lacquer is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are in 15ml bottles, 5 free, cruelty free and vegan friendly.

Foxglove

Description: a mid-toned purple with red to green (OG) UP as well as silver holo reflective glitter
Price: $16.50 for 15ml | 1000 bottle cap

Foxglove The glitters in here are SO sparkly! Love love love a purple jelly with OG UP. The base was on the thicker side but I found it pretty easy to work with. I did work in very thin coats to keep down the bulk though.

The unicorn pee in here was very strong but I was mainly only able to see the red to gold color shift. It was so beautiful! The glitter in here seems to be, to my eye at least, a mixture of silver holographic and silver reflective glitter.

There is a lot of sparkle and it’s hard to pin down exactly what’s going on. Those glitters do dry down with some texture so 1-2 coats of top coat will be needed for a smooth finish.

My photos show Foxglove in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. Removal will of be on the difficult side due to the glitters, use the soak off method or a peel off base coat for the easiest removal.

Nightshade

Description: a deep and moody violet with small and large particle green to blue sibling UP
Price: $16 for 15ml | 1000 bottle cap

Nightshade as someone who is not a huge lover of dark, deep or shades that could be described as moody, even I could see the beauty in this one. The base starts out very sheer and obviously purple. As you build it up, it starts leaning more towards the indigo or blurple family.

I found since the base starts out so sheer, it is pretty uneven on the first two coats. You will need a third coat to even everything out. The formulation and application were both good with Nightshade but it was on the thicker side.

The unicorn pee shimmer in here is very strong. Like the previous polish, I had some struggles getting the color shifts to really show up great.

My photos show Nightshade in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. I didn’t experience any staining with it but I would HIGHLY suggestion wearing base coat, or doubling up on base coat if your nails are prone to staining.
