Hey friends! Trying something a little different with the mystery polish reveals this month. Do NOT continue reading if you do not want to be spoiled for the Ninth House mystery polishes.
These will be launching at the same time as the Saga collection, June Monster Mystery Polish as well as the Rainbow Connection Exclusives. There are a total of 12 possible polishes and each mystery bag contains 2 polishes.
Live Swatch Video
Bee’s Knees Lacquer is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are in 15ml bottles, 5 free, cruelty free and vegan friendly.
Aurelian
Description: a large particle green to purple multichrome with magenta light reflective glitter
Aurelian had a great formula. It was on the thicker side of normal but I found it applied very easily. The multichrome was as described.
The reflective glitters to my eye were very sparkly. I could see a pinkish colored reflect in natural light.
My photos show Aurelian in 2 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. The reflective glitters do give this polish quite a bit of texture so a glitter smoothing top coat will give you the smoothest finish.
Removal will be on the more difficult side if you try to scrub this one off.
St. Elmo’s
Description: a large particle purple to gold multichrome with gold light reflective glitter and a black base
St. Elmo’s had a fantastic formula. I found the base was slightly on the thicker side of normal but what I have come to expect from this brand’s reflective polish formula. Even with the thickness, I found it applied very easily.
The multichrome was as described and I found the reflective glitter to be very sparkly. I could easily see the gold reflects in person. Those glitters do give this polish significant texture so you will want to either double up on top coat
My photos show St Elmo’s in 2 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. I paired this the KBShimmer Smooth Moves glitter smoothing top coat before going in with my quick dry top coat.
Removal will be on the more difficult side if you try to scrub this polish off.
Comparison
St Elmo’s is *very* similar to Ride Together, Die Together from the May 2022 Polish Pickup. The biggest difference between the two is that Ride has more of a red color shift.
