Hey friends! For November Bee’s Knees Lacquer is also releasing 2 custom polishes that will be exclusive to the Australian stockist page (and indie brand), Femme Fatale. Like the main collection (review is up over here), this duo is also inspired by KIngdom Of The Wicked.
Both of these polishes launch alongside the main collection on the 25th. As per usual, links and sale details can be found at the end of the post.

La Prima Strega
Description: a pale blue with gold iridescent flakes, holo flakes, and a scattering of matte black flakes
Price: $13.50
La Prima Strega had a beautiful formula. It started off a little bit sheer but built up nicely. I did have a little bit of VNL with it in 3 coats but I don’t think it will be as noticeable on natural nails.
The flakies all spread out evenly without giving off too much texture. One coat of top coat smoothed everything out nicely for me. I loved the addition of the matte black flakies in this polish. While it’s pretty without them, I feel like the black flakies make it look gorgeous.
My photos show La Prima Strega in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. The flakies in this polish won’t be difficult to remove but they will be on the more messy side.
Shadow Witch
Description: a dark, vampy purple with glowing blue iridescent flakes and ruby light reflective glitter
Price: $13.50
Shadow Witch had a good but thicker formula. This isn’t terribly surprising given this polish has reflective glitter in it. Despite the thickness, I didn’t have any issues with application. I do think this is likey going to be a solid 3 coater to get the full depth of base color that you see in the bottle.
The flakies and glitters all spread out pretty evenly. This polish does have that ‘wet sand’ like feel many light reflective glitter polishes have. So it does dry down pretty textured so multiple coats of top coat will be needed to smooth everything out. I did find that pairing this with a glitter smoothing top coat (KBShimmer Smooth Moves) got me a perfectly smooth finish.
Sadly I wasn’t able to get this one out in daylight. The sun set just as I was adding top coat so my 5th photo shows the polish under direct flash. The reflective glitters are super sparkly and while I can’t speak on how easily the red reflects will be in natural lighting. I was able to see them under artificial lighting around my house.
My photos show Shadow Witch 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. Removal will of course be extremely difficult if you scrub this polish off. I would suggest the soak off method or using a peel off base coat.
