Here is another post that has been sitting in my drafts folder. This is the Bee’s Knees Lacquer Fever series parts 1 & 2. This release was from March of 2021, originally this was going to go up on the old server but between planning my wedding and then getting married, it got lost in the drafts folder.
I had the photos on my hard drive but unfortunately, my notes didn’t transfer over when I changed servers. So this post is going to be incomplete. Some of these polishes have since been restocked so up the post goes for future reference. All of the polishes had great formulas and I used 3 coats for everything.
Balor
Description: a deep, rich orange with OG UP (red to green)
Price: $15
Crimson Hag
Description: a rich crimson with OG UP (red to green)
Price: $15 Cap: 300 bottles
The Crimson Hag great formula. This is buttery smooth. Unicorn pee in a red jelly base is one of my favorite combinations and this is gorgeous. Building this up darkens the base color and strengthens the shimmer. I went in for slightly thicker coats to get this fully opaque. Thinner coats will have some VNL.
This is darker and cooler in base color from When All Is Blood.
Hoar Frost King
Description: an icy denim blue with OG UP (red to green)
Price: $15 Cap: 300 bottles
Hoar Frost King great formula. The base color is a slightly dusty denim blue. The color shift pairs really well with this base color and you can see both colors.
Rhino Boys
Description: a smoky eggplant with OG UP (red to green)
Price:$15
Shades
Description: a bright sunny yellow with gold to green sibling UP
Price:$15
Royal Hunters
Description: a blackened forest green with OG UP (red to green)
Price: $15
Royal Hunters had a great formula. The base is a very dark forest green color the description is perfect on this one. I found that the unicorn pee shimmer plays really well with this base color. This one will build up nicely and three coats.
Note: I did smudge my middle nail mid-swatch (my cat Sammy that does NOT play with cat toys, was playing with a cat toy and I got really excited taking pictures and smudged my nail. Totally worth it but yanno) Anyway, the point of that was to say that I noticed fixing the smudge that if you go in for thicker coats or even a 4th coat, this will get more opaque and deeper)
The Book
Description: a plum brown with green to blue sibling UP
Price: $15 Cap: None
The Book Great formula. Glides easily on the nail. In the bottle, this looks like a murky green. This is on the sheer side so you will want to build it up. As you build it up, the shimmer gets stronger and you lose more of the base color. The shimmer has an almost green to blurple look on the nail.
I used 3 coats for my photos. I think this one will have some VNL.
The Unseelie King
Description: a royal violet with OG UP (red to green)
Price: $15
Had a great formula. It is a jelly so it will need to be built up. I found that the red in the shimmer was the most prominent color for this one. The shimmer seems more delicate in this. I found in low lighting, it wasn’t very visible. This is on the sheer side so there will be some VNL. I used 3 coats.
NOTE: There are some reports of this one staining. I had some light staining myself so make sure to wear base coat (I didn’t)
