[Sponsored/Press Samples – Post Disclosure Page]
Hey friends! This is the first of two blog posts going up today for Bee’s Knees Lacquer. In this post, I have some swatches for some group customs that BKL is doing over on Facebook. Later today, I will have swatches for their Witcher inspired collection.
Both of these polishes are available right now on the BKL website but you will need to be a member of the corresponding group to access the secret link to find them on the website. As always, links will be at the end of the post.
Bee’s Knees Lacquer is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are 5 free, cruelty free, vegan and in 15ml bottles.

Slay It!
Group: Shades of Cyan group
Description: a darker cyan linear holo with a scattering of red to green iridescent flakes
Price: $13.50
Slay It! had a really great formula. The base didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. The holographic base is very opaque, I could see someone going in for a thicker coat and being perfectly opaque.
The flakes all spread out very evenly and easily. I thought a few were going to dry textured but they all dried down flat. The base was VERY holographic, even in my normal-not-really-holo-friendly indoor lighting.
I swatched Slay It! in 2 coats. This polish did dry down fairly dull so you will want top coat for a glossy finish. Removal won’t be difficult but it will be a little messy from the flakies.
Opposites Attract
Description: a magnetic holo with gold reflective glitter
Group: Precious Pearls, Metals, and Magnetics group
Price: $13.50
Opposites Attract had a really great formula. The base didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. It starts off a little sheer but builds up for full opacity in 2 coats.
The magnetic effect was very easy to work with. I used a ring magnet for all of my nails except for the middle nail which I left unmagnetized. On the nails that are magnetized, I added a third coat to be the layer that I magnetized.
The reflective glitter in here was really sparkly and paired well with the holographic. I found in person, this ranged from looking kind of like a sage green to a silvery green.
Due to the glitter, this did dry down with some texture. I paired it with a glitter smoothing top coat (Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber) before going in with the Bee’s Knees Lacquer top coat.
