Zoya Metallic Dreams Fall 2022

[Purchased, affiliate links used]

Hey friends! This is the final of the Zoya Fall 2022 collection blog posts. Previously we had the Classic Leathers and the Cafe Cremes collections. This one is called the Metallic Dreams collection. Out of the 3, I was most excited about this one.

So no brainer but I did swap out my brush for these swatches in favor of Zoya’s Z wide brush. These are all available right now and as per usual, links and sale details can be found at the end of the post.

Zoya is US based mainstream brand. Their polishes are 10 free, cruelty free and vegan friendly.

Amara

Description: A gleaming rich chocolate brown metallic with copper undertones

Amara had a fantastic formula. The opacity of this polish was surprising. It was super close to being a 1 coater on me. I think on shorter nails it would probably be a 1 coater.

The color of this polish is really beautiful. It’s a warm chocolatey brown and the metallic effect gives off a copper/bronzey (brb looking up the color difference between copper and bronze haha) shade.

The only thing that would have made me like this polish more was either gold holographic or gold flakies.

My photos show Amara in 2 coats plus glossy top coat.

Matilda

Description: A metallic sweetheart pink submerged with gold shimmer

Matilda had a beautiful formula. This was the sheerest of the three polishes. It had an almost jelly like formula in the level of sheerness it had.

Nonetheless, I did like this polish a lot. This isn’t a surprise because pink + gold = key to my heart. Although I suppose gold + anything is the key to my heart if we’re being honest. The shimmer effect is almost foil like in appearance so no brush strokes in site.

My photos show Matilda in 3 coats plus glossy top coat.

Moki

Description: An earthly olive metallic submerged with golden undertones and micro glitter

Moki also had a fantastic formula. In person, this just looks like an antique gold shade. I was not seeing the “earthy olive” at all. I also didn’t see the micro glitter. If there is micro glitter, it was incredibly incredibly tiny.

As a gold lover, I loved the hell out of this polish. I think it would be great as an accent nail or even with nail art. No brush strokes in this polish either.

Final Thoughts

I’m not generally a huge lover of metallic finishes. Is it weird to say that I both like the collection and find it underwhelming? I was really excited to try these, liked them on my nails but looking back at the footage, I feel kinda meh?

I can’t recall swatching a collection and feeling both positive and underwhelmed at the same time. My favorite is going to be Matilda.
