Hey friends! I have a couple of blog posts for you today, the first (and second) being by Zoya. For winter/holiday 2022, Zoya gave us 2 three piece collections. The first being this one, the Hypnotic collection. The second is called Y2K.
Metallic finishes seem very popular this year for holiday releases which as someone who doesn’t generally like that finish, doesn’t exactly fill me with joy. I’ll save all of my thoughts for the end of the post.
This collection is available right now on the Zoya website and it’s on sale! I’ll have all of links and sale details at the end of the post.

Zoya is a US based mainstream brand. Their polishes are in 15ml bottles, 10 free, vegan and cruelty free.
Clarice
Description: A dark emerald green metallic
Clarice had a fantastic formula. The base was on the thicker side, but not at all difficult to work with. This is a very dark green base with a brighter green to burgandy duochrome effect. To me, this polish screams Halloween and not really holiday.
I was pleasantly surprised that the metallic finish didn’t show any brush strokes as well as having a subtle color shift. Clarice still isn’t the polish for me but I like those things about it.
My photos show Clarice in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. This polish dries down fairly flat so you will want top coat for a glossy finish.
Metora
Description: A deep boysenberry jam color with a shimmering metallic finish
Metora had the same great formula as the other polishes in this release. The base color was just close enough to a dark magnet to get me to really like it.
The duochrome effect in this one has a berry to burgandy color shift. This is not at all a color that I would normally pick out for myself but I loved how it looked on me nonetheless.
My photos show Metora in 2 coats plus glossy top coat.
Rosalind
Description: A darkened sugar-plum purple, a duo chrome with a hint of blueberry
Rosalind also had a really great formula. It was *slightly* on the thicker side but it also had a tendency to run down the stem of the brush. This is a very dark plum base, in low lighting, it looks black with a blue to purple shimmer. The shimmer does not show any brush strokes.
I found Rosalind gives me very witchy vibes which I was kinda digging! Coverage was pretty good in 2 coats. I think most people will likely be good in two, if you have shorter nails and go in with a thicker coat it might be a 1 coater.
My photos show Rosalind in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. I did have some VNL on the clear part of my nail but I iddn’t think it was obvious enough to do a third coat.

Final Thoughts
Overall I thought this collection was ok. I recognize that I do not like dark colors in general nor do I like metallic finishes in general. Like the Y2K collection, I thought the color choices were odd for holiday but I’m not mad at them.
I liked that these weren’t full of brush strokes and that we had some slight color shiftiness going on. But at the end of the day, I tend to lean towards bright colors than dark vampy.
I do find it funny that I thought the Y2K collection was more summery that this one is more Falloweeny. I think my favorite is going to be either Metora or Rosalind.
