Remember when I said there would be a lot of Zoya posts coming up? This is number 2 of 4 blog posts featuring Zoya’s new-ish releases. Earlier today I shared Zoya’s July Color of The Month polish and now I have the August Color of the Month.
If you are new, Zoya decided earlier in the year that they would be releasing a new polish each month. As far as I can tell the colors seem to be seasonally appropriate shades. For August we have a beautiful purple with flakies (Zoya calls them shimmer but they’re flakies).

Wren
Description: a royal purple shade, laced with playful blue, pink, and silver micro shimmer
Wren I love purple polishes so why I thought this would be an exception, I really don’t know. The shade of purple is bright yet dark at the same time. It’s super saturated and a great summer-to-fall transitional color.
The base felt perfect, it applied wonderfully and self leveled great. My only complaint is that the micro shimmer (flakies) are so incredibly subtle you don’t really get to see them well on the nail.
The micro shimmer (flakies) do not dry down textured but they will make removal a little messy. The pink flakies are the largest of the three colors.
This polish dries down pretty flat so you will want top coat for a glossy finish. I also suspect that this might be a potential stainer.
