Hey friends! Today I have a few polishes coming to the August Charity Box. The theme for August is folklore and the charity will be the Lupus Foundation of America.

BCB lacquer – Fairy Dreams
Inspiration: Inspired by dark fairies.
Description: a smokey grey base with a strong pink shimmer and holo. You will also pick up gold shifts at certain angles.

Fairy Dreams had a great formula. It was slightly on the thicker side but not at all overly thick. I am a huge sucker for a grey polish with shimmer and this one was so beautiful! The shimmer does show some brush strokes but you will have to search for them.
In person, I was seeing both the pink and gold color shift. The holo is delicate and I think this would look amazing in the sun! I used 3 coats for my photos. Shorter nails might be good in 2.

Zombie Claw – Tikbalang
Inspiration: Tikbalang
Description: ultramarine blue with blue-pink-purple crystal flakies and Aurora pigment shifting red, pink, gold, green and purple

Tikbalang had a great jelly formula. It is on the sheer side so you will want to build it up. The blue base looks absolutely amazing paired with the shifty shimmer and flakies! The base color + shimmer combo is another one that I am obsessed with.
Since this is on the sheer side, you will have some VNL with it. I also swatched it on my thumb in 3 coats with a blurring base coat.

LynB Designs – I Am The Horseless Headsman
Inspiration: the headless horseman
Description: a deep blackened blue base with silver magnetic pull and orange to green crystal flakes and a hint of holo flakies

I Am The Horseless Headsman also had a great formula. I have been on a real magnetic polish kick lately and this one made me very happy. It was pretty opaque on its own, I didn’t need an undie for full opacity.
I used the ring magnet that I demoed in this video. For the magnetic effect, I used 2 coats of polish and then did a thicker third coat. While the polish was still wet, I held my finger in the ring magnet for between 20-40 for each nail and then again once I top coated. I didn’t have any problems getting the magnetic effect with this polish.
This will be a 2-3 coater depending on preference. I think if you aren’t going to magnetize it, it will be a solid 2 coater. Nothing in here dried textured or will be difficult to remove.
