Hey friends! My Halloween loving butt is very excited to share these swatches with you all. Today’s blog post is for the newest monthly duo by Sweet & Sour Lacquer! Darlene was speaking directly to my soul when she made this duo!

Bugs And Hisses
Description: a holographic polish with black and iridescent flakies.
Price: $12
Bugs And Hisses had an amazing formula. It didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. The holographic base is very holographic and paired with the variety of flakies, it’s so Halloween appropriate! The iridescent flakies seem to shift from a green to purple. The flakies all spread out very evenly and easily.
This will be a 2-3 coater depending on your nail length. I think long nails will likely want to use 3 coats to cover up their nail line. I used 2 coats for my photos. Nothing in here will dry textured or be difficult to remove.
Skele-fun In The Sun
Description: a skull and bat glitter topper, with a twist! It features some fun and colorful glitters to complement the spooky components

Skele-fun In The Sun also had a fantastic formula. It didn’t feel thick at all despite having so much glitter in it. I found the glitters all spread out very easily. The bats and skull glitters do require a little bit of dipping/swirling to get them out on the brush. The other glitters, stars, hexes and circles, came out without needing to do anything special.
I swatched this polish in 1 coat over Bugs And Hisses as well as in 3 coats on its own. The larger glitters dry slightly textured so you will want to pair this polish with a glitter eating top coat. I used 1 coat of the Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber before using the Sweet & Sour Lacquer Gloss Sauce. As a topper, that method made this 100% smooth. However, in 3 coats this is very textured so you will likely have to add an extra layer of top coat if you want this 100% smooth.
On a scale of 1 (not at all) to 10 (ugh, such a pain) I would say the difficulty level on getting the larger glitters out would be a 2. Keeping the bottle upside down between coats will minimize the amount of swirling you will have to do to get the skulls and bats out on the nail.
Due to the amount of glitters in this polish, it will be difficult to remove. I would recommend soaking it off or using a peel off base coat. To see how I soak off nail polish check out this blog post!

Final Thoughts
You all know that I LOVE chunky glitters so obviously, I am VERY happy about this release! Skele-fun In The Sun is everything I want in a Halloween glitter topper and it looks amazing paired with the crelly polish. Both of these are very Halloweeny but if you are like me, these are all year round polishes.
I really was tempted to swatch it over Ahead Of The Carve by Glisten & Glow (reviewed here) because I feel like it’s just screaming at me to be swatch over a pumpkin orange. I didn’t do it but you totally should and let me know how it looks.
