Heya everyone! I have another blog post to share today that is horror movie themed and this one is for the July Project Artistry box. For July, the PA box is doing team horror vs team fairytale. Obviously, I am on team horror!

Project Artistry is a monthly indie collab based in Canada. Each month, there are 2 opposing themes that handmade indie makers submit items for. The themes are a versus, and the winning theme gets a chance to come back later in the year.
My Indie Polish – Do Ya Like Clowns?
Inspiration: Captain Spaulding played by the late Sid haig (Team Horror)
Description: It’s full of fun multiple glitters and darker micro flakies in a white base.

Do Ya Like Clowns? had a fantastic crelly formula. This is jam packed with glitters in the colors of red, blue and yellow in a variety of sizes. The glitters spread out evenly and easily on their own. I didn’t do anything special to get great coverage.
This will be opaque in 2-3 coats depending on preference. I’d say if you usually prefer to do 2 coats with white glitter crellies, you will likely do 2 with this one. I used 3 coats for my photos. This polish will dry down textured so you will want to go in for 1-2 coats of top coat for a smooth glossy finish.
I thought this was going to look very patriotic (for Americans at least) on the nail but it doesn’t at all. The darker microflakies keep it from looking like a 4th of July polish.

Paint It Pretty Polish – Do You Want A Balloon
Inspiration: IT (Team Horror)
Description: a red jelly base packed with iridescent flakes that shift red/gold and gold flakes
Price: $12 for 15ml Cap: 80
Do You Want A Ballon had a fantastic formula. The flakies spread out evenly on their own and the base didn’t feel thick at all. I feel like I always say this but Paint It Pretty does a really great flakie polish!
The red base is a true red, it didn’t lean orangey at all. This will be a 2-3, coater depending on how visible your nail line is. I used 3 coats for my photos. I didn’t have any VNL or issues with staining.

Sassy Cats – The Magic Is Real
Inspiration: Team fairytale
Description: A purple cream with shifting pink orange gold green aurora shimmer
Price $13 Cap: 60
The Magic Is Real had a great formula. I really love the purple base color paired with the shimmer. Even though the base is pretty opaque, the shimmer is very strong. It doesn’t show brush strokes at all.
I will note, to make sure that your layers are fully dry before going in for another. I noticed that if I didn’t let this dry fully between coats, my brush would pick up previous layers. This will be a 2-3 coater depending on your application. I think if I had let my first coat dry before going in for a second, this would have been a 2 coater.

Sassy Cats – Break The Spell
Inspiration: Team Fairytale
Description; a matte topper with Gold & blue flakes plus shifting flakes in a clear base
Price: $11 Cap: 60
Break The Spell had a beautiful formula. The flakies spread out really nicely on their own. Despite being matte, this didn’t dry too quickly and I was able to apply it on my nails with no issues. I was undecided on how I wanted to swatch this. I ended up going with 1 coat over my go-to 1 coat black, Heather’s Hues Shadow as well as 1 coat over The Magic Is Real.
I found the blue flakies pop more when this is glossy. I thought this looked amazing both matte and glossy. Nothing in here dried textured or will be overly difficult to remove.
