Hi friends! It’s been a hot minute since we had a Polished Gamers Box blog post up around here. For January the theme is Mass Effect. That is not a game series that I am very familiar with but that won’t stop me from enjoying some nail polish!

Night Owl Lacquer – Legendary
Inspiration: Mass Effect Legendary Edition
Description: a greyed indigo tinted base filled with vibrant violet/fuschia/orange/gold/green shifting shimmer
Price: $13 for 15ml | Cap: None
Legendary had a fantastic formula. The base is pretty sheer so you will want to build it up to get the most opacity. If you don’t mind the base color slightly tinting, this could work as a topper as well.
The sheerness really helps make the shimmer effect POP off of the nail. I was seeing the described colors in the shimmer without any brush strokes.
I wasn’t too sure about this one on the first coat but I found as I built it up, it kept getting better. I did have VNL with this polish but in lower light (when the shimmer is at its most glowy) it’s not as obvious. In direct lighting, VNL was very obvious.
My photos show Legendary in 3 coats plus glossy top coat.
