OPI My Me Era Summer 2024 Swatches and Review

OPI My Me Era Summer 2024 Swatches and Review

Purchased by me, affiliate links used

Hi friends! Today I am sharing the new OPI Summer 2024 collection. I had many issues getting a hold of this one (got sent the wrong collection and then received a broken bottle in the replacement order) so that was the hold up on reviewing it.

Much like what they did for the Spring collection this year, we have TWENTY ONE new shades. There are 12 shades in the main part of the collection and then 9 shades that are exclusive to the Infinite Shine line.

The My Me Era collection is a limited edition collection and a portion of sales will be donated to the Trevor Project. This collection is available now at online retailers like Amazon, Walmart and Target. If you would like to get these at a discount and support the blog, check out Beyond Polish with code NicoleLovesNails will save you an extra 10%.

OPI is a US based mainstream brand. Their polishes are in 15ml bottles and 3 free.

As Real as It Gets

Description: A pure white nail polish that’s as real as you

As Real as It Gets I would not consider this a pure white. To my eye, this is either an incredibly pale grey or a why with a drop of grey added.

I expected this to have a super chalky formula but I was pleasantly surprised at the formula being pretty good. A little bit streaky on that first coat but nothing that I wouldn’t expect from a white creme.

My photos show As Real as It Gets in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. This will be a 2-3 coater depending on your application style.

(Bee)FFR

Description: A bumbly yellow nail polish you’ll bee feelin’ real in.

(Bee)FFR I love how cheeky this name is!

My photos show (Bee)FFR in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. I will call this a 2-3 coater depending on preference and application style.

Dream Come Blue

Description: A cobalt blue nail polish as bluetiful as you

Dream Come Blue I wouldn’t quite call this one a cobalt blue. It’s more a medium blue, kind of in line with Sally Hansen’s Pacific Blue.

My photos show Dream Come Blue in 2 coats plus glossy top coat.

Feelin’ Fire

Description: A fiery orange nail polish that’ll make you feel HOT.

Feelin’ Fire reminds me of the color of a winter squash. Not a Halloween pumpkin but something in that family tree.

My photos show Feelin’ Fire in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. This will likely be a 2-3 coater depending on nail length and application.

I Can Buy Myself Violets

Description: A bold violet nail polish that’ll make you bloom

I Can Buy Myself Violets I went down a bit of a Google images rabbit hole with this polish because I do not see violet when I see this color. As it turns out, the color violet seems to range in *a lot* of different shades and tones of purple.

To my eye, this is a pinky purple, definitely in the purple family but with some pink in it.

My photos show I Can Buy Myself Violets in 2 coats plus glossy top coat.

Lookin’ Cute-icle

Description: A yellow nail polish that’ll make you feel cute-icle

Lookin’ Cute-icle had a really nice formula that was slightly on the thicker side but overall good, especially for a yellow creme. This one is going to require careful application for even coverage if the goal is opaque in two coats. I would recommend “normal” to thicker coats to get even coverage. Going in for super thin coats just makes the polish seem extra streaky.

My photos show Lookin’ Cute-icle in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. I had 2 nails that were good in 2 coats but I did 3 coats on all of them.

Midnight Snacc

Description: A dark green nail polish that’ll eat it UP

Midnight Snacc is for sure an odd choice for a summer collection but I was kinda living for it.

While coverage was pretty decent on that first coat, it’s by no means a one coater. I reached full opacity with two coats.

My photos show Midnight Snacc in 2 coats plus glossy top coat.

My Me Era

Description: A coral pink nail polish that’s unapologetically you

My Me Era My bottle of this was on the thicker side but I don’t fault the polish at all. The website I got I ordered this from had a broken bottle and some of the polish from that bottle got into this one’s threads.

I did add some thinner to get My Me Era swatched but I think the formula issues I had were due to evaporation in transit.

My photos show My Me Era in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. If I had added thinner before I started swatching this, I have a feeling it would have been a two coater.

Pricele$$

Description: A rich green nail polish as unique as hue

Pricele$$ I have been referring to this color as Kermit the Frog green and it will forever be that in my mind

I love this shade of green. It’s very 1970s prugly green!

My photos show Pricele$$ in 2 coats plus glossy top coat.

Purrrride

Description: A dark brown nail polish that’s purrre joy

Purrrride is an odd choice for a summer collection BUT I love that a brown is added to a rainbow summer collection. Very bold and I appreciate it!

My photos show Purrrride in 2 coats plus glossy top coat.

Stop at Nothin’

Description: A classic red nail polish that never holds back

Stop at Nothin’ had that gorgeous red creme formula that we have all come to expect from an OPI red creme. This was just shy of being a one coater.

While the brand does say this is a classic red, I did find it had some orange undertones. And by some orange undertones, this is a very orange leaning red.

My photos show Stop at Nothin’ in 2 coats plus glossy top coat.

You’ve Been RED

Description: A bright red nail polish that’ll read you hand to toe

You’ve Been RED has that more jelly/crelly leaning formula that some red shades have. It also dries down a bit more sheer than it initially applies.

Much like Stop At Nothin’, this is a very orange leaning red. The difference between the two is that this is a bit more sheer.

My photos show You’ve Been RED in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. I did have some VNL with this one.

You’ve Been RED is slightly brighter and more orange than Stop at Nothin’. It also has more of a jelly/crelly formula. I think these are too similar to be in the same collection but they’re not dupes either.

Infinite Shine Exclusives

The following polishes are all exclusive to the Infinite Shine line. These are OPI’s “gel-like” polishes. They all air dry like regular lacquer but the brand says they last longer than the regular polish line. OPI recently reformulated its Infinite Shine line so some of my bottles show the new labels and some show the old ones. Feelin’ Myself is an example of the new labels.

I think all of these have the same shimmer in them. It doesn’t dry down textured but has a yellow to greenish look depending on the base color. I had varying degrees of VNL with all of these. These shades are a mix of not quite fully opaque and more sheer jelly leaning shades.

Feelin’ Myself

Description: A long-lasting shimmery hot pink nail polish that’ll make you feel gooood

My photos show Feelin’ Myself in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. I did have a some slightly VNL with this polish but not enough to get me to add a third coat.

Funshine

Description: A shimmery golden yellow long-lasting nail polish to brighten your day

Funshine is one of the more sheer IS polishes. I was a little concerned about how sheer this one was on the first coat but ended up LOVING how this looked built up.

This is such a fun bright and sunshiney yellow.

My photos show Funshine in 3 coats plus glossy top coat.

I Deserve the Whirl

Description: A shimmery sky blue long-lasting nail polish that’ll give you the whirl.

I Deserve the Whirl I love this shade of blue! It’s darker than I think of a sky blue to be, maybe a medium blue?

My photos show I Deserve the Whirl in 3 coats plus glossy top coat.

Limelight

Description: A long-lasting nail polish in shimmery green that puts the limelight on hue.

Limelight I thought that I was going to hate this color because on that first coat, it looked pretty bad. Thankfully it looked amazing once you build it up.

My photos show Limelight in 3 coats plus glossy top coat.

My Own Bestie

Description: A long-lasting shimmery violet nail polish that’ll be your BFF

My Own Bestie this is a warmer pinky purple.

My photos show My Own Bestie in 2 coats plus glossy top coat.

On Cloud Fine

Description: An aqua blue shimmer long-lasting nail polish that’ll make ya verrry happy

My photos show On Cloud Fine in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. I don’t think there was a big enough difference between two coats vs three to say you have to do three coats with this one!

Sheen Stealer

Description: A shimmery teal long-lasting polish that’ll make you steal the sheen

My photos show Sheen Stealer in 2 coats plus glossy top coat.

I kept confusing On Cloud Fine and Sheen Stealer for each other while editing my video. Left is Sheen Stealer. I don’t think these two colors are that similar but I think it’s helpful seeing the side by side anyway.

SHeen Stealer is more green toned and On Cloud Fine is more blue toned.

Self Looove

Description: A long-lasting shimmery candy red nail polish that’s serious self looove

Self Looove I love this shade of red! It’s very candy apple red.

My photos show Self Looove in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. Based on the opacity of the other shades in this release, I don’t forsee this one reaching full opacity even if you add a third coat.

You’re the Zest

Description: A long-lasting orange shimmer nail polish that’ll make you feel a-peeling

This is the bright orange for summer this collection desperately needed! This had a bit of a thicker formulation but not so thick that I needed to add thinner.

My photos show You’re the Zest in 2 coats plus glossy top coat.

Final Thoughts

I am honestly surprised at how much I loved this collection. I went into swatching it feeling a little disappointed that we were getting a ton of bright shades for summer but between everything having fantastic formulas and the shades making a stunning rainbow I was really pleased with the entire collection.

I do think the main 12 shades are a little dark for summer but they are staple colors for a collection so if for some reason you don’t have similar shades already, these would be great ones to have.

The Infinte Shine shades scream summer much more to me than the rest of the release. I am SO over the moon happy that the IS shades are true shimmers and not pearl/frost shades!

My top picks are Dream Come Blue, Pricele$$ and Funshine!
