NeVerMind Apothecary Sugar N Spice Duo

[Press Samples – Post Disclosure Page]

Hey friends! Today I have a super quick blog post for you guys for a new release from NeVerMind Apothecary. I *think* these were a Valentine’s day release but honestly both shades work all year round.

Just a note for my swatches I did use the brand’s wide brush. NeVerMind Apothecary gives the option of choosing brush size with polishes on their website and I will always go with wide brushes.

The Sugar N Spice duo is available right now. As always, links can be found at the end of the post.

NeVerMind Apothecary is a US based indie brand. Their polishes are in 15ml bottles, 5 free, cruelty free and vegan.

Spice

Description: a chameleon polish shifts from a raven black to a fiery crimson and is packed full of highly reflective glitter

Spice had a wonderful formula. It started off a little sheer but it built up really evenly. The black to red multichrome base looks fantastic paired with the reflective glitter.

I found it dried *slightly* lighter than it applied so I think it will be a solid 3 coater. The reflective glitters will give this polish some significant texture so I paired it with a glitter smoothing top coat.

My photos show Spice in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. Removal will be on the messy side and potentially difficult side if you choose to scrub it off. I soaked it off with no issues.

Sugar

Description: a sweet and dainty manicure. It’s a pale, soft pink crelly with ballerina pink metallic flakes.

Sugar had a great formula. It also started off sheer and just slightly streaky but it did build up for full opacity. The metallic flakes are a pale pink that could pass for a rose gold like color. They all spread out very evenly without giving off any texture.

I feel like the clear part of my nail made this seem like I had some VNL from the color difference between my natural nail and my gel nail. I don’t think this will be an issue for natural nails. I couldn’t see any VNL on my natural nail.

Like the description said, this is a very soft and delicate looking polish. I found it did seem to dry just slightly more sheer than it applied so I would recommend wearing this polish in 3 coats.

My photos show Sugar in 3 coats with both glossy and matte top coats. Removal won’t be overly difficult, I soaked it off with no issues.

Final Thoughts

I really enjoyed both of these polishes. Honestly Valentine’s day releases are often my favorite solely because I freaking LOVE the color pink. You guys know I am kinda obsessed with crellies and red to black multichromes so obviously both of these polishes are A+ in my book.

If you twisted my arm, I think I would say Sugar is my favorite but I think I am only saying that because it has pink in it. I wore Spice for a full day and couldn’t stop staring at my nails the whole time.
