CHEESE Scented Nail Polish?? Nails Inc x Velvetta

[Purchased, affiliate links used – Post Disclosure Page]

Hey friends! In yet another example of brand collaborations that no one asked for but I was kinda excited for anyway, I have some cheese scented nail polishes to share. For whatever reason, Nails Inc decided to collab with the (highly processed) cheese company Velvetta.

It has been a long time since I had such a weird product to share. I do believe the last one was that hot dog scented acetone additive and of course the Salty & Sweet collection from Sinful Colors. Clearly I really like weird nail related products and spoiler alert, this won’t be the last weird blog post as I have another one coming soon.

Both of these polishes are available right now and as per usual, I will have links and sale information at the end of this post.

Nails Inc is a UK based mainstream brand. Their polishes are in 14ml bottles, cruelty free and vegan.

La Dolce Velvetta

Description: a yellow creme

La Dolce Velvetta had a pretty good formula. It was fairly streaky but it applied and self leveled nicely. The shade of yellow to me is a very artificial cheese colored so that’s fitting for this release.

As far as the fragrance goes, I’m undecided on what it is that I was smelling. It smelled unpleasant but I wouldn’t say it smelled like cheese. Given it has been a long time since Velvetta cheese made an appearance in my household, I feel like I do remember what it smells like.

The fragrance seems to dissipate VERY quickly. After I took my photos, I made dinner, cleaned up, watched a little tv and went to bed. About 4 hours after I applied this there was no scent coming from my nails. Which was pretty disappointing because I never got a chance to make Wayne sniff my nails.

My photos show La Dolce Vita in 3 coats plus glossy top coat. I did have a few light spots but overall coverage was passable. Nails shorter than mine might be ok in 2 coats.

Finger Food

Description: a red creme

Finger Food had a really great formula. It applied very evenly and I didn’t have any application issues with it. Where the yellow polish was streaky this one applied perfectly and self leveled really well too.

The fragrance on Finger Food was really disappointing. No matter how much I shook this polish up, I wasn’t get any fragrance from it. It just smelled like nail polish to me.

My photos show Finger Food in 2 coats plus glossy top coat. This polish dries down fairly glossy on its own. I

Final Thoughts

I am kinda meh about this release. I was kind of hoping that these would smell really cheesey and obnoxious. The fragrance was underwhelming on La Dolce Velvetta and the fact that Finger Food didn’t smell like anything? Pretty disappointing.

I like the colors themselves but honestly, I just bought these because I wanted my nail polish to smell like cheese. Since that didn’t really happen, I can’t say I loved this release.
