My Indie Polish Small Batch Prototypes

[Paid PR – Post Disclosure Page]

Hey nail friends! Today was one of those days when I absolutely did not want to be inside. The weather has been amazing here this week and despite normally being the kind of person who rarely ever wants to leave their house, I have been having a hard time being indoors.

Anyways, today’s blog post is for a new release from My Indie Polish. I have 2 small batch prototypes to share with you all. These polishes will be available starting on May 15th on the My Indie Polish website in limited quantities. Full sale details can be found at the end of the post.

Live Swatch Video

My Indie Polish is a Canadian based indie brand. Their polishes are handmade, 7 free, cruelty-free and vegan.

2 Faced

Description: a blue to pink thermal with an obnoxious amount of holographic
Price: $15 CAD

2 Faced had a fantastic formula. It was slightly on the thicker side of normal but I didn’t have any application issues. It was also surprisingly opaque! My hands were like ice cubes will I was swatching this polish but I found it changed very easily for me.

The cold state is a blurple leaning blue to my eye, and the warm state is a cool toned pink. This polish was VERY holographic. I’m typing this in my tv room which has horrible lighting for holographics but I can very easily see the rainbow sparkles!

My photos show 2 Faced in 3 coats plus top coat. I think this will be a 2-3 coater depending on personal preference. I honestly think I was probably good in 2 coats but erred on the side of caution and added a third coat.

Nothing here will dry textured, but you will want to add a top coat to give it a nice glossy finish. I didn’t experience any staining.

Dirty Laundry

Description: slightly mauve gray base with gross amounts of flakies
Price: $15 CAD

Dirty Laundry also had a beautiful formula. I found the base color to be a *slightly* blueish purple leaning medium grey. The flakies in here all spread out evenly without giving off any texture.

To my eye, there were several different types of flakies that gave the polish a rainbow of colors. I could also see a delicate shimmer pink to orange shimmer.

I swatched Dirty laundry in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coats. I think it will likely be a 2-3 coater depending on personal preference. For personal wear, I would likely wear this in 2 coats.

The flakies won’t make removal overly difficult but they might be messy if you scrub them off. No issues with staining.

Final Thoughts

This post is really bittersweet for me. My Indie Polish is closing up shop soon so this will likely be my final dedicated blog post to the brand. Tanya, if you’re reading this it has been an absolutely pleasure getting to know you this past year. You’re one of my favorite people in the little nail world of ours and honestly just one of my favorite people period.

I loved both of these polishes for different reasons (base colors + holo and base color + flakies) so I won’t be picking a favorite this time around.
