[Press Samples/Sponsored Giveaway – Post Disclosure Page]

Hey friends! Today I am sharing a brand new release from My Indie Polish. This release is for their brand’s 10 year anniversary! Tanya was super amazing and offered to sponsor a giveaway in celebration of my YouTube channel hitting 900 subscribers! I will get in to that towards the end of this post.

This release is available right now on the My Indie Polish website. As always, links and sale details can be found at the end of the post.

My Indie Polish is a Canadian based indie brand. Their polishes are in 15ml bottles, 7 free, vegan and cruelty free.

Tin (10th Anniversary Polish)

Description: a black to pink thermal
Price: $13 for 15ml

Tin had a beautiful formula. My hands were pretty warm the day I was swatching this one so it starts changing on me right away. I found the warm state is a baby pink type shade and the cold state is a dark purple. I was also seeing a purple-ish shimmer effect as well as some scattered holographic.

This polish is super pretty in person. I think it will be a 2-3 coater depending on your own personal preference. In 2 coats, I found it was still on the sheer side but passable. My photos show Tin in 3 coats.

You will want top coat as this dries down slightly dull. Nothing in here will be difficult to remove and I didn’t experience any staining.

My Brain

Description: perfect purple with that perfect amount of acceptable glitter

My Brain had a really great formula. It didn’t feel overly thick at all despite having a TON of glitters in it. I found the lavender base to be slightly greyed out. However, once I added top coat, this had a more vibrant look on the nail. I spoke to Tanya about it, and the current line of thinking is that my peel off base coat interacted with the polish and my top coats making it bleed a little.

The glitters all spread out very evenly and easily. I found the largest of the circle glitters do seem to sink in the bottle a bit so keeping the bottle upside down between coats will get more of them out on the nail.

This polish had pretty good coverage in 2 coats. I think it will likely be a 2-3 coater depending on how much glitter you want out on your nail. I found the glitters do dry textured so you will want to pair it with a glitter eating top coat for the smoothest finish. My photos show My Brain in 3 coats.

Removal will be difficult due to the glitters. I would recommend soaking this polish off.

My Heart

Description: a grey to lilac-ish cream base with multicoloured multi shaped glitter

My Heart had a fantastic formula. It did not feel thick at all despite having so much glitter in it. I was seeing hex, triangle, shreds, and circle shaped glitters. The hexes were in multiple sizes and colors. I did found holding the bottle upside down between coats got out *slightly* more glitters than not doing it, but I don’t think it will be necessary to do.

All of the glitters spread out very evenly and easily on their own. I did do a tiny bit of dibby dabbing to get a few of those triangles in places but I wouldn’t say I used glitter placement exactly.

I found the base color on this was a greyed out lilac. It leaned very lilac on me but I could see this leaning more grey on other skin tones. It had pretty good coverage in 2 coats but was a tiny bit sheer. I used 3 coats for my photos.

This polish also dried fairly textured so I would recommend either going in for 2 coats of top coat, or pairing it with a glitter eating top coat before your normal quick dry top coat. Removal will be difficult if you try to scrub this one off. So I would recommend soaking this off or pairing it with a peel off base coat.

My Soul

Description: a bold base with opposing glitter

My Soul had a really fantastic formula. The base color for this is like a tangerine orange that is slightly muted. The glitters come in a variety of shapes sizes as well as colors. In person I was seeing hexes, squares, triangles, dots, stars and heart shaped glitters.

I found to get the most glitters on the nail you will want to hold keep the bottle upside down between coats. As the largest of the glitters do seem to sink quite a bit.

I think this polish will be a 2-3 coater depending on your own personal preference. I wanted a boat load of glitters on my nails, so my photos show My Soul in 3 coats. It was passable in 2 coats though. Due to all of the glitters, this will dry down fairly textured. I would recommend pairing it with a glitter eating top coat before going in with your usual quick dry top coat for the smoothest end result.

Removal will be difficult if you try to scrub this one off.

Final Thoughts

Anyone who has been reading my blog posts knows that I LOVE GLITTER. So obviously, I am completely obsessed with the trio. I think they were all amazing but if I was going to pick a standout, I would say My Heart would be my top pick.

Tin was also beautiful, and it being pink made me very happy. But like I said, glitter is where my heart is. If you are new to glitters, the easiest way to remove them will be the soak off method or pairing them with a peel off base coat. I prefer the soak off method.

As far as glitter eating top coats go, I always reach for the Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber. I used that for all of my swatches.

A note on thermal/solar polishes…

I want to note that thermal and solar polishes do have a shelf life on how long they will change colors. Generally, they are guaranteed to change colors for at least 6. My oldest thermal that still transitions is from 2018.

To get the most out of a thermal (all nail polish really) you’ll want to store them in a cool, dark place. I store my thermals with my other nail polish in the Ikea helmers. Once a thermal no longer changes color (aka dies), you can still wear them! The thermals that I own that have died, all stayed in the warm state but it’s not guaranteed to stay in the warm.
