Hey nail friends! Today’s post is for the newest release from Moonflower Polish! Which is called the My Old San Juan trio, inspired by the classic Puerto Rican song, En Mi Viejo San Juan or “at my old San Juan” in English.

Borinquen Querida
Description: dark neon purple with pink-purple-gold shifting shimmer
Borinquen Querida had a great jelly/crelly formula. It was just *slightly* on the thicker side but that might have been due to the fact that my nail room was like an ice box (50 degrees for the curious). This had really good coverage in 2 coats but not quite the color you see in the bottle. The third coat does deepen the color and adds more depth to the shimmer.
En Mi Viejo San Juan
Description: a neon coral jelly polish with a slight red-orange-gold shimmer shift and indigo-purple-orange shifting microflakes.
En Mi Viejo San Juan had a great formula. This is a BRIGHT neon coral jelly! I found that it was very much a jelly polish so it needs to be built up. My camera was kinda freaking out with this one but just note, it is BRIGHT. I found the shimmer mainly looks pinkish in this base. I used 3 coats for my photos.
Frente al Mar
Description: light neon blue with red-green-gold aurora pigment and scattered holo.
Frente al Mar had a wonderful formula that was smooth and easy to apply. This shimmer is very similar in color to OG UP. The holographic element didn’t really seem to want to come out with my indoor lighting so I am glad I was able to pick it up better in my outdoor shots. This is pretty opaque in 2 coats but I found that the 3rd coat does deepen the color to what you see in the bottle.

Final Thoughts
I really enjoyed this trio! If I was going to pick a favorite it would be Frente al Mar or maybe En Mi Viejo San Juan. I can’t decide which of those I liked more.

The My Old San Juan trio is available now on MoonflowerPolish.com for $9 each. These are not super limited edition but once the initial batch sells out they will go on pre-order. They will be discontinued at a later date so I wouldn’t recommend waiting too long to pick these up.
