Hello friends! Today’s blog post is for the September Little Box Of Horrors! The theme for September is All Things Halloween 🎃 *cue spooky music*.

Little Box Of Horrors is a bi-monthly indie collaboration box where each month follows a new theme based off of horror, sci fi and mystery themes.
BCB Lacquers – Swamp Witch
Inspiration: swamp witches and magic.
Description: an emerald green polish with a blue/green/gold shift and holo.
Price: $13 for 16.5ml Cap: 150 bottles
Swamp Witch had a beautiful formula! I know I always say this but Brittany always amazes me with how they make such opaque shimmer polishes time and time again. In person, this is an emerald green base with a subtle shifty shimmer. In person, I was seeing all of the described colors. The holographic sparkle isn’t super in your face but it isn’t subtle either.
This polish has the potential to be a 1 coater. I found on my current nail length, I could have gotten away with 1 thicker coat. I used 2 coats for my photos. This polish is *very* pigmented so be sure to wear base coat with it to prevent staining. I didn’t experience any staining with it.
Note: I feel like my photos made this lean more teal toned than emerald green.

LynB Designs – Practicing Dark Arts and Crafts
Inspiration: The internet’s obsession with cats and Halloween
Description: a deep blue to purple to pink shifting base with pink magnetic pull and added holo shimmer
Price: $13 for 15ml Cap: None
Practicing Dark Arts and Crafts had a fantastic formula. This polish is very opaque and very holographic! In person, I was mainly seeing the blue to purple color shift. I found the holo shimmer appeared most strong in direct sunlight.
This polish could potentially be a 1 coater if you don’t care to magnetize it. On my middle nail, I am showing it in 2 coats without magnetizing it. On my other nails, this is in 2 coats magnetized with an S magnet.

My Indie Polish – The Leaves Are Not Dying
Inspiration: When Tanya was a kid and the leaves were changing colour she thought the patches of red was the leaf dying. Her brother always had to tell them the leaves are not dying. To this day she loves watching the colourful change of seasons.
Description: A brown Crelly with a beautiful pink-red- gold shimmer
Price: $13 for 15ml Cap: 50 bottles
The Leaves Are Not Dying had a really great formula. It started off slightly on the more sheer side but it builds up nicely in three coats. The shimmer in this looks so beautiful in this brown base! I was seeing all of the described colors in person as well as a greenish color.
I think this part is going to be a solid three coater. You might be able to get away with two coats if your nails are on the shorter side and do use thicker coats. I used 3 coats for my photos.
Note: browns tend to lean very warm (reddish to a golden) on me. I found this to look very chocolatey in the bottle.

Night Owl Lacquer – Eerie Lights
Inspiration: Halloween light displays.
Description – a neon yellow-green filled with purple/pink/gold/green aurora shimmer.
Price: $13 for 15ml Cap: None
Eerie Lights have a great crelly like formula. This is a super bright neon shade so it does glow under black light. The shimmer gives us a really glowing look on the nail. I found that I was seeing different color shift colors on the nail but this mainly looked very glowy.
I think this one is going to be a solid 3 coater. You get pretty good coverage in 2 coats but it is a tiny bit patchy. The third coat evens out the color and fixed any light spots. This post does drive down slightly dull will want top coat for a nice glossy finish.

The Little Box Of Horrors shop opens on the 18th of every other month on lbofhorrors.com and closes on the 30th. All items are sold on a pre-order basis and are expected to ship 3-4 weeks after the sale window closes.
