Little Box Of Horrors March 2022 | Witches & Warlocks

[Press Samples/Paid PR – Post Disclosure Page]

Hey friends! Today’s blog post is for the March Little Box Of Horrors. It has been a hot minute since I had this collab on my blog. The theme this month is All Things Witches.

So I totally meant to get this blog post up earlier but I had some personal issues going on and honestly everything got put on the back burner. The good news is there is still time to snag these very beautiful items.

The Little Box Of Horrors is a bimonthly indie collab box. Each box is inspirated after a horror, science fiction, supernatural and/or mystery theme.

All Mixed Up Lacquers – Trapa

Theme/Inspiration:  The Grey Spell from the movie Halloween Town.
Description: a milky/grey thermal when warm and black when cold. Filled with holographic glitters of different sizes and shapes, colorful stars, bats and moons (oh my!)
Price: $12 for 15ml | Cap: 100

Trapa had a really great formula. The thermal aspect started changing on me right away and I found both colors as described. This polish starts off pretty sheer and you will have some VNL in the warm state.

This polish has SO MANY different glitters in it! I did run this one through my nail polish shaker before applying and I found that I didn’t have to do any fishing or holding the bottle upside down between coats. The larger glitters do give off quite a bit of texture so you will want to pair this polish with a glitter smoothing top coat.

My photos show Trapa in 3 coats plus 2 coats of top coat. Removal will be extremely difficult it you try to scrub this polish off. I used a peel off base coat (Holo Taco’s Peely Base) but soaking this off will also work.

This polish really blew my mind. I had a moment while swatching it where I realized how much I miss Halloween inspired collections. Random but that’s what I was thinking.

LynB Designs – Veiled One

Theme/Inspiration:  Cailleach the Celtic goddess/witch of winter
Description:  teal base with purple to pink to orange to yellow shift, holo flakes, and silver reflective glitters
Price: $13 for 15ml | Cap: None

Veiled One had a fantastic formula. The shimmer in here is extremely color shifty and glowy. In person, I was seeing a pinky/magenta, orange, yellow to green color shift. The shimmer seems to have a slightly larger particle size that when paired with the flakies and glitters make this polish very sparkly on the nail.

The reflective glitters do give this polish some texture once dry. I used 1 coat of top coat and that seemed to smooth it out nicely. However, I didn’t have this on for a very long time so I can’t say for 100% sure if you will need to add a second coat of top coat for a perfectly smooth finish.

My photos show Veiled One in 3 coats plus top coat. I did have some VNL on both my natural nail and the clear part of my nail.

LynB Designs –  Grimoire (Multichrome Eyeshadow)

Theme/Inspiration: A witch’s personal spell book
Description: a black based multichrome with intense green to blue to purple shift
Price: $13 for 4 grams | Cap: 50

I am a novice when it comes to applying makeup and found this eyeshadow very easy to work with. In person, I was seeing a gold, green to blue color shift. I asked my husband while I was wearing this if he could tell that I had a color shift going on my lids and he could see it.

I have worn this eyeshadow a few time since originally receiving it and find that it lasts best when paired with a glitter eye primer. I use the Nyx Glitter Primer for that purpose. I bought mine from Amazon but it’s also available at Ulta & Walmart. That’s my personal go-to glitter primer and I found it works well with all of the LynB Designs multichrome eyeshadows that I have tried.

I am not a pro at applying makeup by any means and found this very easy to apply. For the look above, I used a flat dense brush as well as my finger to apply. My experience with multichromes find these are the best ways to apply these eyeshadows.

My Indie Polish – Witch Hazel

Inspiration: Witch Hazel from Looney Tunes
Description: a white crelly with lots of little dots in it and we are also including a little side bag of blue and watermelon star shaped glitter there is some in the polish but they tend to sink.
Price: $13 for 15ml | Cap: None

Witch Hazel had a fantastic formula. The base didn’t feel overly thick or thin and I didn’t have any application issues. I found the glitters came out of the bottle very easily. I did run this one through my nail polish shaker before applying so I didn’t have to do any fishing for glitters.

I will note that most of the glitters I get out are the neon cirle/dot glitters. The stars seem to sink a little bit. The glitters will give this polish a bit of texture so I used a glitter smoothing top coat before going in with my regular quick dry top coat.

My photos show Witch Hazel in 3 coats plus both glossy and matte top coat. Removal will be on the difficult side if you try to scrub it off. I used a peel off base coat.
