Leesha’s Lacquer Halloween 2020 Quad | Swatch & Review

As if our wallets weren’t already hurting from all of the amazing collections and various indie collabs that have been going on this month Leesha’s Lacquer is releasing TWO quads! We have this Halloween quad and a Dia de los Muertos quad (reviewed here). Both will be available today at 6PM Central (7PM Eastern) on the Leesha’s Lacquer website and Etsy page. With the exception of the thermals, these will be limited editions. As always, I’ll have links at the end of this post to where you can purchase these. Note: My photos show mini bottles!

If you haven’t heard of this brand before, Leesha’s Lacquer is a handmade indie polish brand based in the USA. Their polishes are 5 free, vegan and cruelty free. I am a full time swatcher for Leesha’s Lacquer so I have quite a few posts with their polishes on my blog. **I also have a discount code for the website which is NICOLELOVESNAILS25 to save 25% off your order! This isn’t an affiliate code so it’s just a code to save you some money!**

Disclaimer: I was sent these products as PR in exchange for photographs and an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. My photos were taken indoors with daylight bulbs, outdoors with natural light plus both matte and glossy top coats.

Here For The Boos!

Description: a dark olive jelly with 4 types of gold shimmer

Here for the Boos! has a perfect jelly formula. It looks like a murky green on the first coat but builds up nicely. The gold shimmer are in a variety of sizes and I am picking up a gold holographic in there. My photos show it in 3 coats. This removed easily with acetone.

Hey, ghoul, hey!

Description: a lilac shimmer with a touch of holo pigment

Hey, Ghoul, Hey! Is mindblowingly beautiful! That’s my official descritiption for this polish. I loved the base color paired with the shimmer and linear holographic. My eye was also picking up some medium sized flakes. I liked this in 2 coats but it was just a touch sheer so I added a 3rd coat for my photos. This removed easily with acetone but I will note that if this is scrubbed off, you’ll find your fingers covered in shimmer particles.

Jack-o-no-she-betta Don’t

Description: a yellow to orange shimmer thermal

Jack-o-no-she-betta Don’t is a medium toned yellow to a pumpkin orange thermal. The color change for this is subtle and has a lovely ombre effect. This would be a good thermal for people who are leery of thermals dying. It is on the sheer side in both states so you will have some VNL. My photos show it in 3 coats.

Ogre-ly Protective

Description: a prugly dark orange with blue flakies and a touch of aurora shimmer

Ogre-ly Protective is a very unique shade to my collection. In some lighting, I’d think this a brown and in others it’s definetly dark orange. It just glides on the nail and feels like a jelly. To get the color in the bottle, I did 3 coats for my photos. This looks amazing matte so I had to do a macro with it matte. This removed easily with acetone.

My Thoughts

This was a great little quad! The formulas were all easy to use and I have no complaints. I have gone on the record for saying that I hate mini bottles but these actually were easy to work with. My favorites were Ogre-ly Protective and Hey, Ghoul, Hey!. Ogre-ly Protective is definetly a prugly (pretty but ugly) shade that kind of asks the question “what’s the difference between brown and dark orange?”. Even though this is a Halloween collection, I think these colors would be fine all year round.

Thank you for reading! I’d love to hear your thoughts on this collection in the comments below. Especially if you have an answer on the difference dark orange and brown! This topic became a heated “discussion” in my house LOL. Oh and don’t forget to follow me over on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube!

Don’t forget to check out the other quad releasing today!

A note on thermals…

I want to add that thermal polishes do have a shelf life (generally at least 6-12 months) on how long they will change colors for. My oldest thermals that still change color are 2 years old. To get the most out of a thermal (all nail polish really) you’ll want to store them in a cool, dark place. I store my thermals with my other nail polish in the Ikea helmers. Once a thermal no longer changes color (aka dies), you can still wear them! The thermals that I own that have died, all stayed in the warm state but it’s not guaranteed to stay in the warm.
