Today’s blog post is for the newest Le Petite Indies collab box! The theme for this box is Valentine’s Day/Anti-Valentine’s day. I think this is a fantastic theme for both people who celebrate Valentine’s day and for the people who think it’s hogwash. I personally celebrate Valentine’s day (basically any holiday where eating chocolate is encouraged is my kind of holiday) but I also think it’s hogwash and get a kick out of anti-valentine’s releases. I will have all of the sale details and links at the end of this post!
The Le Petite Indies is a holiday collaboration box amongst a few indie polish brands. Boxes usually come out during major holiday seasons.
Disclaimer: I was sent these products as PR in exchange for photographs and an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. My photos were taken indoors with daylight/LED bulbs and outdoors in natural light. I used the KB Shimmer Clearly On Top glossy top coat, Glisten & Glow Glitter Grabber (for glitter polishes) and the Glisten & Glow Matte top coat for my photos.
Color Spectrum Polish – Middle School Sweethearts
Inspiration: Shannon met her husband while they were in middle school so she’s using them as her inspo!
Description: A gorgeous maroon with red shimmer UCC flakIes and holo microglitters
Price: $12 for 13ml Cap: 50 bottles
Middle School Sweathearts had a great formula. It applied evenly and wasn’t too thick or too thin. I did notice that the polish did want to run down the stem of the brush so my coats ended up being a little thicker than I would normally use. Even without the thicker coats, this was very opaque. This has a beautiful sparkle on the nail that is really gorgeous. The microglitters don’t give off much if any texture and 1 coat of top coat smoothed this out perfectly. I used 2 coats for my photos.
Red polishes in general tend to stain me when I wear them. I didn’t have any staining issues (skin or on my hard gel) with this one after removal. But since it is so opaque I would reccomend doubling up on base coat just in case. In the bottle, the components reminded me of End Of Days (Diablo Polished Gamers box). Spectrum Polish called from the Polished Gamers box. However, after putting the 2 bottles side by side, the components weren’t really similar. The previous polish was a deep inky blue
